Best entrance

Another Kirk entrance: the evil half's arrival on the transporter pad in The Enemy Within. That was the first one that came to my mind. The way his back's turned. The way he's slightly stooped. The way he turns.

I've gotta agree. an awesome little scene there... that one. y'know... when TOS got it right, it got it fantastically right. :bolian:

I'll have to look through my collection to see if there are better ones, but I thought Data had a cool introduction in Insurrection.

For me, hands down, the best entrance ever is Kirk entering the bridge and saving Stocker's hide in the Deadly Years.

That was Kirk at his best!

We have a winner!

I had forgotten, but in jr high, I was out sick for a week. When I made my return to school, I got a friend to bring an audio cassette of DEADLY YEARS in, cued to that moment, and he was sitting with my other buds in the library. He started it up and I made my "report mr sulu" entrance into the library, then stomped over to the center seat I usually occupied.

Nobody else except our table 'got' it, but it was a glorious moment. The way the music is going as everything is going downhill for Stocker, and then the florish as Kirk enters ... dynamite!

First time we set eyes on Shran in the Andorian Incident.

First time the Enterprise crew see Shran in Proving Ground... :)

That's what defined Kirk. Always cool in the face of impossible odds. Someone above said "when TOS got it right, it got it fantastically right" That statement hits the nail on the head here.

why, thank you, TLS. I'm glad we at least agree on some things ;)

No prob. My pleasure.

Actually, you could apply that to TNG as well. I think the Picard-Worf exchange on the bridge and the Picard-Guinan exchange in the ready room in First Contact both fall into that category. What do you think?

hmm, yes, definitely the scene with Guinan. but I also love the one with Lily -- "the line must be drawn here!" Trek is full of sublime scenes. but maybe just to us Trekkies?

Sorry, the Lily exchange was the one I was remembering. Not Guinan.

Just to clarify, the Worf exchange when Picard said "In fact, I think you're the bravest man I've ever known.." was just awesome.
