Oh ok, thank you.
Shame on me!
It's a kind of weird design though. Is there speculations about what it could have been ?

I go back and forth of this all the time. The E is my favorite, at least at the moment. I think the E is sleek and graceful, yet can still kick some butt.

I never saw the Ringship Enterprise. From where does it come from ?
As far as onscreen goes, a photo briefly seen on a wall in the Enterprise's rec deck in TMP.

Referred to non-canonically as a Declaration-class.

Referred to as such in the 'Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology'. Described there as a Starliner - carrying people in comfort to other stars during an especially peaceful period in UFP history. Not at all involved with defense or exploration.

Tough choice. I love the design of the Enterprise refit, and the gorgeous lines of the Enterprise D. Then again, I love the interior look and feel of the NX-01. If I had to pick one of them, though, it would have to be the Enterprise D. Just by a nudge.

Well, you definitly need to have a vivid imagination to explain that kind of flaws in design...

The refit Big - E from TMP. I think of her as a free form sculpture, an art-deco cathedral in space. Beautiful.

But I also have to give a little love to the often overlooked and occasionally maligned 1701 - B. I find her aesthetically pleasing, actually. The original Excelsior design never thrilled me (at first look in TSFS I though someone had picked up a toilet seat/lid and a footbath at Home Depot and glued 'em together), but the upgrade has a certain air that I like. I'm a naval historian and the "bulges" on the engineering hull make me think very much of either a French Frigate from the late 1700s or the WWI British monitor Erebus. Gave her a more "nautical" feel that I find satisfying.

The WWII carrier Enterprise.

...But for Star Trek purposes, for me, the original will always be the best.

Where's the HMS Enterprize option, As it's the earliest one we saw (albiet in the titles of Enterprise) :P

Though back to the topic at hand, It might be interesting to see if there is any correlation between preferred Enterprise to first one seen/grew up with.

Whilst I'm not old enough to remember TOS in it's first run I watched it during it's endless re-runs in the late 70's/80's. I did catch TNG when it was first run on this side of the pond. My first thoughts on seeing the Ent-D was it didn't seem right, almost forward/top heavy (yes in space I know it makes no difference) it did grow on me. But my first thoughs on seeing the Ent-E was that looks right, as compared to be earleir first thoughts on the End-D.

But like many things asthetics are subjective.

Thankfully that's still not canon. I don't like the passenger starliner concept at all for that design (it just doesn't work for me). I do prefer to think of it as an early exploration vessel.

I loved the TMP refit, really hated TNG's Enterprise (ugly, ungainly, horribly 80's, beige interior etc.) but really like the 'E'...

I went for the C. Not sure why but I just love the Ambassador-Class, plus Rachel Garrett seemed like a damn good Captain.

Enterprise-D: Everything about it is absolutely perfect. From the exterior it looks gorgeous, and the interior is everything you would expect from a ship made in a utopian future; comfortable, easy to navigate, efficiently run, and a perfect blend of technology and home. I envy the passengers who lived on it. I would love to serve on board it more than any of the other ships.

Enterprise-E. None of the other Ents encapsulated what I felt like a sleek, powerful starship should be both on the inside and outside so well as the Sovereign-class did.

I'm also a big fan of the Ent-D and Ent-B, and the refit original/Ent-A has the distinction of taking something disgusting and making it at least kind of appealing.
