Exterior - The NCC-1701-D. It was very graceful looking is what I think of whenever I think "the Enterprise."

Interior - The NX-01. I loved the almost submarine feel of it.

Overall, however, I'll go with 1701-D.

The E, as it looks less like an ornament and more like a sci-fi starship that, while aesthetically pleasing, means business.

If you just say "The Enterprise," the first ship I think of is the (TOS) Enterprise Prime. Always going to be my favorite.

The D model appears to be the one that would be the most comfortable to serve aboard, it looks like the inside of a nice condo.

The E, as it looks less like an ornament and ...
I have a on-going problem with the coloring of the exterior of the E model, would have loved to it if TPTB had gone with the white and slight blue tint of the Enterprise Prime.

Too be fair as to their absent, we never got to really experience either of them. To a lesser extent, the same goes for the ST Eleven ship, we have never "lived" aboard her for years, or even a couple of movies.

:)

My vote goes to the E. I loved the design the moment I saw the ship in First Contact. Second place would be the NX-01 because of its realistic feel.

The TOS E is my first love.
That already-beautiful design was made even more elegant with the TMP refit.
The organic re-interpretaion of the basic layout into the 1701-D was almost as beautiful as the refit.

The B was a pathetic pasting of awkward spare parts onto another already-existing ship.
The C was an uninspired but acceptable utilitarian design.
The E was sleek and attractive, but not as much as the TOS, refit or D.
The NX was a hunk of unimaginative crap, based lazily on an existing ship that was never meant to be anything but a background extra.

The refit Enterprise took what was good about the original design and made it that much better. A lot of people nowadays gripe about being bored during the sequence in TMP of Kirk inspecting the Enterprise in drydock. But I remember sitting in a packed theater on Dec 7, 1979, watching with awe as the new ship was lovingly displayed for the first time to audiences who hadn't seen any new Star Trek adventures in a decade. I loved it! I still get a tingle when I watch it.

I'm also very fond of the (latest) aircraft carrier Enterprise (CVN-65). Like the TOS starship, I built a plastic model of this magnificent "nuclear wessel", and even wrote a report about her when I was in junior high school. A huge and truly amazing ship. (I even know someone who landed a Marine helicopter on her decks during the Vietnam War.)

As a fan primarily lf the feature films I got to go with the refit Enterprise NCC-1701. But I liked what little we saw of Enterprise-A as well in the subsequent films.

The NCC-1701-E is my favorite. Sleek, elegant, and classy. I also have a fondness for the NX-01, despite its Akira influences. If those Akira-esque bulges on the saucer weren't there, I don't think the design would get as much grief as it does.
