Angel season 5. The final ten episodes (with the exception of "Why We Fight") were nothing short of amazing and in my opinion had the best use of the Buffyverse for drama. There was more character and stakes there then anywhere else. Sure, season 7 of Buffy was kinda epic, but it was flat. And Spike was better than he ever was on Buffy.

That said, I think Angel season 2 is runner up, with Buffy seasons 2 and 3 right behind it.

Yah sorry about that. I submitted the pole to early without chossing the option of more than one vote.

But you said you had already voted for them, clearly you hadn't (because you couldn't) so you were telling porky pies.

Wel I was going too!!!! Seriously guys chill out, it's not that big of a deal. MOVE ON.

Well I can't vote because it's been that long since I watched them I can't even remember what happened in each season....

....and yes, it IS a big deal.

I voted for Buffy season 3, and then pretend voted for Angel season 2. I like Buffy just a hair more than Angel, probably because I was in high school when Buffy and co. were. Both seasons were totally awesome though. I'll never forget having to scrape my jaw off the floor after Angel locked Drusilla and Darla in with the lawyers, and then fired his crew.

Angel's 5th Season. But Buffy's 3rd is a very close second place.
Angel's 5th gave the show a lease of life when it had been coasting downwards since, basically, No Place Like Plrtz Glrb. The addition of Spike, although an obvious ratings grab, turned out to be a master stroke, the storylines were compelling, interesting, well written, the characters true to form and engaging to watch, and the new setting offered a whole new pool of stories. It was essentially abrand new, invigorated show, but with the backstory of Angel to draw on. I loved it, and it was a real shame we only got the one year of Angel and co. and Wolfram and Hart.

Buffy's third was also brilliant - After a somewhat shaky start with my least favourite episode of Buffy ever, Dead Man's Party, it never had another dud all season, stormed from strength to strength, had the best 'big bad' the show ever did, Produced some wonderful and iconic episodes in The Wish, Revelations, Dopplegangland, Band Candy, Bad Girls, and culminated in the best season finale yet. Even the traditionally shocking pre-finale episode (remember Weight of the World?) was really good - for all its teen movie cheesiness, I found The Prom quite affecting.

Buffy: S3 was absolutely the best. It had the best cast full of great characters before they all went away. It had the best villain in the Mayor and Faith. This was the last year before Buffy became an insufferable bitch. Willow had the best haircut. But most importantly it was consistent. Every episode was good (except for Gingerbread!) and had something happening in it. Angel: hard to say. S2-5 were all great and so close to each other in quality. I might say S4, but the Cordy-Conner stuff was yuck and Jasmine was slightly disappointing as a Big Bad. I might say S3 but Holtz wasn't the most dangerous villain. S5's first half was a little too standalone. I guess I'll say S4.

Season 5 with Glory and her minions and the Knights of Byzantium. Show should have ended after the finale. Would have been perfect closure.

Yes, if Buffy had ended with S5 I would hold it MUCH higher in my memory than I do now. S6 just completely killed my love for the show, and S7 was just alright.

I hate it when a great show runs too long, and those lame duck later years kill the good memory of the show; X-Files, Stargate SG1...
