Best actor on the show?

I'm curious as to who you think gives the best performance, out of the series regulars?

Or even including guest stars?

It's difficult because I think no one's used to their full potential... but I'd pick Rapp and Isaacs, with Doug Jones on #3

i feel like rapp’s performance lives in that space where i can’t tell if he’s really damn good or really damn bad in the role. i still love the character though.

but yes, isaacs is doing great work with a really underwritten character.

Isaacs...But Shazad was great in the last ep...His PTSD breakdown was very convincing...Strong actors in most roles tbf!

Isaacs is actually head and shoulders above the group. Then there are a couple of ordinary performers. All and all they are a good cast.

So far- I actually think this might be the most talented overall cast the franchise has ever assembled, maybe with the exception of the Kelvinverse cast.

Isaacs, hands-down, by about four or five laps around everyone else. In fact, he so dominates the show that it's hard to believe that Michael's our alleged POV character. We're forcibly reminded of it whenever it focuses on her but when Lorca shows up...he just shines.

Now, that having been said, there's other outstanding performances, such as Rapp and Latif, to soak up as well, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them.

Lorca as a character certainly dominates interest, and Isaacs acting abilities just add a multiplyer to the effect. I'll be really REALLY pissed off if they write him out.

I've resigned myself to the idea that the writers will find some way to make Lorca as EEEEEEEVIL (TM) as some folks apparently think he is...so they can somehow, unrealistically, shoehorn Burnham into the centre seat. Does not change the fact I'll be very annoyed to see it; perhaps as annoyed as I was to watch Kirk go from Cadet to Captain in three scenes in Star Trek (2009) and that's saying something.

Then again, I'm also resigned to Tyler Is Voq, too, which bothers me on so many levels, I cannot begin to enumerate, so...

I really hope the Lorca thing is wrong. My enjoyment has been that he is NOT the typical paragon of perfect virtue that the stereotypical Trek leading captain has been since 1987 and that his arc seems to be toward healing and self-redemption...working toward re-discovering himself after the tragedy of the Buran.

To make him EEEEEEEVIL (TM) would kind of destroy what I've been enjoying about him thus far, which is (seemingly) that imperfect but ultimately effective leadership approach coupled with a redemption journey.
