B'elanna Torres pairing - Tom or Harry

In the early seasons when they were possibly going to be a couple he was still all about Libby, living with the hope that he would see his FIANCE soon. Honestly I would have lost a little for Harry if he had given up on her so fast. Personally I don't believe that distance cancels out a comitment. Yes after a while he should move on when it becomes more clear that they're not getting back soon, but in the beginning when hope was high of getting back quickly I liked that he was holding on to Libby.

As for Persistance of Vision...I don't believe that the vision was actually an expression of a romantic desire for Chakotay as we've said before. But if there was a pairing of B'Elanna and someone besides Tom I can see Chakotay before I can see Harry.

In my view, Long Distance Relationships don't work. You can't make love over the phone. If the distance was very temporary, like, let's say ... a couple weeks, to a month ... that's likely survivable. But anything past that and it's like ... "ehhhhh ... I don't know."

Hell, I wouldn't even drive an hour, on a regular basis, for a piece of crumpet. Do you know what a pain in the ass that would be? There's no way you could hope to sustain a relationship like that. An HOUR's drive ... night after night. By day 3, I'd be looking for my next conquest.

So, no ... once it was clear VOY really was stuck out there, then it's time to bite the bullet and move on. Find somebody new. Because whilst you're holding out for your sweet petunia, back home, all the good ones onboard are being taken. And all you'll have left from which to select is Human jetsam. Nobody wants that ...

It seemed pretty obvious to me that B'Elanna had a romantic desire for Chakotay during most of Season Two. It more or less died by Season Three. But it seemed as if Chakotay regarded her more or less as a protégée or a younger sibling.

I thought for half a minute there might have been something between Paris and Janeway. Just a hiccup way back in the early days of season 1. It passed pretty quickly.

Can you point to anything specific that made you think that?

I drive over an hour to my boyfriend's house and it's totally worth it. Going on 4 months now.

Let's say that day 2 in the DQ Harry gave up hope and hooked up with someone. Then let's say a month later they actually got home. How would he feel? How would Libby feel? If it was me, I would be really upset that the person who wanted to marry me and spend the rest of their life with me couldn't hold out hope for more than a few days.

Just tiny things, like her giving him the helm, and she always seemed to be touching him. Like I said, it was pretty much 'blink and you'll miss it'.

You could argue the same with Torres. She called Harry "cute" once while she seemed very distraught by what was happening to Tom in Threshold.

But ... let's say ... what if when Harry hooked up with the new girl, it was kizmit? Isn't that a compelling reason? When you've got a lemon - OK? - you've got to make lemonade with it. Sweet ... pulpy ... refreshing ... and plentiful. Life's already too short, as it is. When you're facing a 7 decade ride home at Warp 9, I mean ... just how many decades do you expect to have? And how many of those are The Good Years? Those are too precious and few to be chasing rainbows. I need something far more substantive ... and substantial.

well...in Threshold she kind of says that she instigated their mating LOL
Yeaahhhh. I thought that too. I mean Janeway volunteering that info if she wasn't the instigator? And since she didn't portray the least bit violated I buy she did it. I mean we assume Paris by default but....it's amusing in light of that throw away line.

Janeway instigated mating with Tom, Torres instigated mating with Tom, that woman from Ex Post Facto...yeah, can't see why he cares about going home so much.

Hmmm....with Janeway he was a salamander, Torres wasn't in her right mind, and the Ex Post Facto woman was using him as part of a conspiracy.

Although he did manage to have kids with all the primary female characters except Seven.

Tom actually never cared about going home. He had said that his life on Voyager was better than his life back in the AQ....and not just in regards to woment throwing themselves at him

I think we're talking about different things. I don't disagree that once he accepted that they were lost for good that he should start looking for someone else. I'm talking about early on in their journey when they still thought they might find a shortcut home.

No, i made it up. There are not many things that could make voyager worse; that's definitely one of them.
Well..I'm not for that pairing but Neelix is a very kind, sweet, caring, and generous man. I think he would actually make a good partner
