Be honest: who posts here from work sometimes?

I'm a videographer and I edit what I shot from home a lot of the time. So, sometimes I'll take a look here while I pause. When I'm not working out of home, I won't visit at all. Nope. Nosiree. I'm a good worker...

If you're a student, just switch "work" to "school" and same deal.

Waaaay back in the early 2000s, I would post here from work. I worked in a convenience store, and used the checkout system to access the internet. :D
When I worked at Dell in 2006, I'd access TBBS, though the company firewall would often stop me from posting.

Well, my work DOES consist of long periods in which I am unable to do anything because I am waiting for someone else to do their job, punctuated by short bursts of my usual hyper-efficient work activity, and I have outstanding job performance reviews, so... "Ah do wut ah WANT!"

Never. Work has rules about that, and software to track our usage. I need the job waaaayyy more than I need to be able to post some random thought midday.

Aye, almost every day. Our IT department keeps track of all employees' online activities, but I've got nothing to hide. :D

depends. On other boards I mostly post from home.
However, for TrekBBS I almost exclusively use my office connection. It has such a perfect ad-blocker :adore: (and no, I can't switch it off. Only the Admin of our equivalent of the Home Office can - it's a government-run network.)

I always check during quiet periods. I don't bother with picture threads though since work seems to block most image hosting services.

I am shocked, I SAY SHOCKED! to learn there is gambling going on in this establishment.

That means "yes".

Wow, you all are so good! I have been posting from work for years. I sit at a computer all day and sometimes there's only so long you can stare at a spreadsheet, format a report, or sort through emails before you need a bit of a mental break. I will usually browse for 5-10 minutes at a time, then go back to my work for a couple hours. I work at a very large institution and no websites are blocked. I'm sure they have some way to keep track of where I've gone, but to my knowledge no one has ever looked into it or cares. I think supervisors have to jump through hoops to be given access to that information. Basically, I'd have to be looking at some pretty awful stuff before anyone noticed or cared. I know of one person who, years ago, was caught looking at porn on a work computer. And he wasn't fired, he works in a different department now.

Do I feel guilty about browsing this place? Not really. I'm on salary, I don't take breaks, I usually take a shortened lunch, and I work very hard when I am working. I'm much more productive when I can indulge in little internet breaks every now and then.

Not technically, as in not using my employer's computer. However, sometimes I work from home and post from my own computer, but on company time... However, it's only for five or so minutes that I might otherwise spend just staring at my screen rather than working.

All the time! I'm just more efficient than others here I guess. I get my work done everyday in a couple of hours, others here complain that they are never caught up.
I always get perfect reviews too.
