Spoilers Batwoman - Season 1

I didn't feel like watching the finale yesterday, but I did watch it today.
Wow, I did not expect Alice to kill Mouse, that really surprised me.
Jacob telling Batwoman they had a truce, and then turning on her was pretty messed up. For a second during their big confrontation at the football stadium, I thought maybe Kate was going to take off her cowl.

Hopefully we'll get some concept art for the new Batwoman at the DC FanDome event, I take it production still hasn't started again in Vancouver so a teaser would be too much to hope for, right?
 
That hadn't occurred to me, but yeah we probably can expect some kind of Batwoman news at Fan Dome.
 
Nice to finally get her side of things. I can definitely see where doing such a physical show so soon after a major injury could be hard. At least it sounds like it wasn't because of any kind of bad experience with the people involved.

Rather, the COVID quarantine gave her time to contemplate things and realize she needed to take more time to heal.
 
After reading the interview, I'm wondering if the reason they created Ryan, rather than recasting, is because Ruby Rose might be willing to come back in a one off or recurring role at some point.

Yep, that's what I've been hoping.
 
While sometimes it may be a personal decision that they aren't open to discuss it's nice not having to speculate and hear it from the horse's mouth.
 
And from that to a question: "Who says there must only be one (Batwoman)?"
After all, this isn't Highlander.
 
Not yet, but there's nothing that says that can't change. There have been multiple Batmen, so I don't see an reason there couldn't be multiple Batwomen too.

Yes, of course. There was only one Flash until there wasn't. There was only one Green Lantern until there wasn't. There was only one Captain Marvel until there wasn't (and now the first one doesn't get to be anymore).

In the comics there have been at least two
Kathy Kane from the Silver/Bronze Age
an of course
Kate Kane
Kathy still sort of exists but not as Batwoman.

Difference here is that this is not some decades-old series that had a format where everything from spin-offs, imaginary stories and new versions could be played with thanks to time. This freshman TV series rested on the life and actions of one character by far--a character that would not have existed unless her specific motivations led her to think she needed to put on a costume. In other words, in the TV series' tightly-wound narrative, if Kate said, "screw it--I'm moving to L.A. for a new life!" there's no Batwoman (and no one else is thinking one could or should exist), and Luke would have continued to act as the caretaker of Wayne's secrets--presumably forever.
 
I see absolutely no reason that Ryan can't find herself in a situation where she is inspired to take up the Batsuit the same way Kate was. Ryan taking up the Batsuit after Kate is no different from Kate taking it up after Bruce.
