Her comics look is pretty iconic, and the show is doing a decent job of being faithful to it.
The red hair makes it easy to pull in a fight, and no concealment is possible-take a look at Casandra Cain's Batsuit, and see how better it is:

For Batman, it isn't a problem, so it shouldn't be for Cass.
Then neither is the long hair for Kate or Babs.

Season 1 - Episode 2 - "The Rabbit Hole"
Kane/BW: Still no explanation on how she knows how to use Bruce's weapons in the field with no training in so short a time. Her unending dedication to Alice under the idea of her being Beth does not get around the fact Alice is a murderer, which no amount of "abandonment issues" (or whatever else) justifies.
Jacob Kane: He protests enough about having the conclusive evidence about Beth, but it seems like he knows Alice is his once-lost daughter, but conceals it for another reason...his own wife?
Luke Fox: Still waiting for his character move beyond the "Nervous Black Nerd" stereotype.
He says he's not like his father. One can only imagine where that statement is going.
Sophie Moore: As I thought, Kane would plant the seeds of destroying Sophie's marriage, and would have tried if she knew about it earlier. That is not acceptable and certainly not honorable.
Alice: She's unhinged enough to be interesting, but Berlanti series need to drop the incompetent henchman trope--people who are supposed to be dangerous...except when easily beat by the series lead, who has no practical experience fighting on the street.
On her own, she plays Kate with ease, plucking her every string to the point where she (Kate) is engineering a greater problem for her own family.
Oh, and of course Alice was never going to make it to Arkham.
NOTES: One thing this series needs to do PDQ is show the need for Kane to learn and apply detective skills; the greatest strength of Batman, Robin (Grayson) and Barbara was not in the physical side, but what was between their ears. So far, Kane is just learning thigs by chance, or the work of others without her acknowledging being a detective should be at the top of the list of skills to acquire. Just seeing a birthstone, and a learning about a criminal's vendetta against to city's top law enforcement representative is just a hunch, but somehow, she put it all together...
GRADE: B.

Why add black in there? All nervous nerd streotypes act like this, not just black ones.
Prior to the events of tonight's episode, Jacob was unaware that Alice is/was Beth; this was confirmed by Rachel Skarsten herself in an interview, as I noted earlier in the thread.
Jacob is also clearly distancing himself from the truth and taking the mindset that Alice and Beth are so fundamentally psychologically different as to not be the same person even if, physically, they are.

Yeah, that was surprising, though the existence of Themyscira was previously established on Legends of Tomorrow.
I loved it that Sophie's first question to Kate was "Was that you?" She figured it out right away, which puts her miles ahead of most superhero love interests.
Interesting that both Sophie and Alice/Beth recognized Kate's eyes or features despite the mask. Maybe that's why she adopts the vivid red wig and Bat symbol next week -- to draw the eye away from her face.
I was surprised that Luke turned out not to be the usual tech-support type. I was expecting another computer/high-tech genius like Felicity or Cisco, but he's just a security guy who barely knows how half this stuff works. I appreciate the departure from the formula, but it raises the question of what his role will be in the stories going forward. I wonder how he even ended up knowing Batman's secret.
Still more Chicago shooting than I expected. Though I'm guessing they shot a lot of second-unit stuff of Batwoman riding her bike around the city, material they can reuse in future episodes.
Speaking of which, it's not that good a misdirect if Batwoman has to drive into the Wayne Foundation garage before reaching the secret passage to the Batcave. The tunnel exit should be somewhere a lot more distant and unconnected to any known Wayne property, especially that one.
Because the black nerd has been used in TV and film for the better part of 30 years, and they are almost always the same kind of characterization. Now that's he's referred to his father, perhaps this hinted baggage--and slowly opening up to Kate--will break him out of that stereotype.
The plot wasn't quite as snappy as last week, but the acting was definitely turned up a few notches. Skarsten was phenomenal, and she's already shaping up to be the best badie since Bennett.
I don't know. But, from a location and readiness standpoint, I think it makes more sense than being under the manor way out in the boonies.
I don't think Sophie is the 'love interest' for this show, but we'll see what happens.

In the comics at one time there was a Batcave under the Wayne industries building. Bruce lived in a penthouse there instead of in Wayne Manor. I forget the reasons why they did that. This was back in the 1970's IIRC.
