Looks like he quit to be in Avatar 2-5 which IS actually filming.

If Cameron wants to do them all, he'd be smart to FILM them all first, as I think overall, they ain't going to be the mega blockbusters the studios expect. That way the studios HAVE to put them all out in some form. The first plan was to film 2-3 and release them and then film 4-5 and release them, but they have been so delayed who knows what will actually come from it.![]()
Yup---I was fine with just 1 Avatar. If Cameron wants to do them all, he'd be smart to FILM them all first, as I think overall, they ain't going to be the mega blockbusters the studios expect. That way the studios HAVE to put them all out in some form.
Well, that's unbelievably fucked up.When I heard there were people actually contemplating suicide over the notion that Na'vi wasn't real,
He did a lot more big movies than just the Terminators and Avatar, he also worked on the Jurrasic Parks, Predator, Aliens, Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns, Galaxy Quest, AI, and a ton more.TBH: I’m looking forward to seeing more new RDA starships and vehicles, in the new Avatar sequels.
Most, of not, all of the RDA resources / appliances (Scorpion, and Samson Gunships, Valkyrie bomber, and RDA heavy/command gunship) were created by Stan Winston (who designed the T-800 endoskeleton, Aerial Hunter-Killer, and Centurion from The Terminator movie).
One of my favourite designers!
So hopefully we get to see some more of his work (perhaps unused) from Avatar and repurposed for 2 and 3?
Would be cool if we did...![]()
Overrated by who? I don't remember a lot of people saying "What a great story!".Avatar...looked great, especially in 3-D. But a shitty, overrated story.

This is a valid point. Then again, Ridley Scott also happens to be arguably one of the greatest filmmakers of our time - he makes Prometheus and all of a sudden everyone treats him like he's Uwe Boll. The moviegoing audience is a fickle lot...I think some people may have a problem with pattern recognition. I mean Cameron has already done "simple story with flashy effects movie becomes all time highest grossing record breaker" twice now. On top of that, he generally has a habit of pulling off the seemingly impossible (make a successful sequel to Ridley Scott's masterpiece of science fiction horror by turning it into a war movie? Check! Film almost an entire movie underwater in a half-built nuclear reactor that required the invention of specialised scuba equipment all the while pushing the boundaries of digital effects? Check!)
Whatever I may or may not think of Cameron as a person or a filmmaker, I'm not about to bet against that kind of track record. That'd be dumb.
Honestly, even people who made it talked about technological innovations. I don't remember Cameron saying something like "You know, from a story point of view we made a masterpiece!"Overrated by the people who made it?![]()
