You know how these things go. Some people will say "lame, so predictable" while an equal number will say "wow, I never saw that coming!"They're not even trying to pretend it's a secret that Superman is coming back are they![]()
I love his reviews. The podcast he does with the other bloke is funny too.^ Youtube reviewer Mr Sunday Movies is always advocating for #mulletforsuperman.
Reality certainly works that way often enough. Don't see any reason it can't happen in fiction too.I appreciate Snyder's storytelling method of having stuff come out of nowhere and sideswipe the story like an out of control bus.

You know, if you're that hostile to the whole thing, why bother watching the longer cut? No one, any where, claimed the longer cut transforms the movie into something so different those who hated the theatrical cut will suddenly see it for the masterpiece it is. (not really calling it a masterpiece, incidentally)I'm watching the EC on BD right now and I'm only about 20 minutes or so into it and, yeah, the added stuff so-far doesn't seem to do a whole lot. It works on some level on filling in some gaps but it sort-of feels like when a city fixes a pot-hole riddles street by using one of those "quick fix" trucks that fills and seals the hole in a few minutes but ultimately does nothing as it's not as good of a repair as actually re-paving the street. Which this movie needed, a ground-up repaving. (I.E., an entirely new story and plot.)
And why is Alfred always grousing about Bruce not getting married/continuing the family line? Why is Alfred going from concerned companion and father-like figure to over-protective Jewish mother worried about her kids never settling down?

It is a clear improvement in clarity over the theatrical cut and it is also clearly the cut Snyder would have released if he had complete control over the project. But anyone who hated the original and thinks this cut will "fix" all the things they dislike is bound to be disappointed.
Nolans Alfred did the same thing.
"I'd set you up with a chimpanzee if it would get you out of this house"
"You never moved on from Rachel"
Alfred Pennyworth: This house, Master Wayne, has sheltered six generations of your family.
Bruce Wayne: Why do you give a damn, Alfred? It's not your family.
Alfred Pennyworth: I give a damn, because a good man once made me responsible for what was most precious to him in the whole world. Miss Dawes has offered to drive you to the hearing. She probably hopes to talk you out of going
I don't see why snyders is getting such a bad rap
