I know this story would in no way be accepted as canon because if any character in Star Trek tried a stunt like this, it would have too big an impact on the Star Trek universe as we know it, but I will start a poll asking how many would do the same sort of thing if given a chance. I do hope the story gets liked enough to wind up in the Star Trek magazine so I can try to earn money as a writer.
After requesting a leave of absence, I took off into a runabout shuttle I had acquired and headed to Jem'Hadar space. After going through the worm hole, I headed toward where they were and was hailing a message asking to speak to someone as soon as I got to their solar system. I didn't have long to wait because I saw one of their ships, and I said, "This is Lieutenant Reginald Barclay requesting to someone about an escort to the homeworld of the Founders. I could find it myself because I know Starfleet has been there, but I'd rather come under peaceful circumstances please. As you can tell, this ship is no way battle ready, so I hope you'll find my intentions peaceful enough."
Someone answered the hail with a question. "What does Starfleet want with the Founders?"
"I am on a leave of absence from Starfleet right now," I said, "And I am on a mission that may result in no Starfleet or a Starfleet with nobody from Earth, which you should find to your liking, since I know you don't like us that much; and I need the assistance of two founders to help me get through a time portal known as the Guardian of Forever to come with me and help me get through since there was one of them who served on a space station known as Deep Space Nine named Odo; and the one he reported to was Benjamin Sisko. I could use this shuttle to get there, or you could allow me to dock to make the trip quicker. Technically, you could demand that I leave and use your weapons to blow me out of space if I don't; but that won't get rid of your problems because I didn't say I was resigning; and they'll come looking for me if they don't hear from me. There's a possibility that Sisko might send someone to come looking for me because I had to dock there and I told him I was thinking about visiting the founders homeworld, and he advised caution.
There was a long silent pause before I got a reply. "You're either very brave or very stupid for coming here."
"I'm anxious to get our people out of everyone's hair, and I can only do it with the help of the Founders. The Guardian will have people guarding it, and I need two shapeshifters who won't mind helping me out. I don't want anyone guarding it to be killed; and that shouldn't be necessary because I'm sure they could easily render someone unconscious without killing him or her, so I can travel over 63 hundred years into the past and back to change Earth's history."
"I don't know how you intend to get back, but you're a brave man for trying. We will gladly help you out with your mission."
"Thank you."
I felt nervous around them because they were a warrior race; but they didn't act aggressive toward me, so the trip to the Founders homeworld went peacefully.
