Bar and Grill 4: The Conversation Pit

The Siege of AR-558 would probably be my fourth or fifth choice (For the Uniform would be in there as well).

But I could come up with at least 10 or 12 that I think are better than pretty much anything else in Trek.

Not that I'm biased or anything. :p
Yeah, it's the same with me. It's not that I think DS9 is better then all the other Trek knows. It KNOW it is. :D

Though if I had to compile the top 10 eps of Trek, The City on the Edge of Forever and The Inner Light would probably on the list (the other 8 eps would be DS9). ;)

DS9 had so many good episodes it's hard to decide which is the absolute best. Last week I watched the In Purgatory's Shadow/By Inferno's Light two parter and realized that those two episodes could be considered the best for everything it did for the series. The scene between Garak and Tain gets me every time. Top 20 would probably be easy to come up with, but with shows like TNG, DS9, and Farscape, there is no such thing as an absoulute favorite.

Let's see....I'm not sure any non-DS9 eps would make the top 10. But if they did, they would likely be Yesterday's Enterprise from TNG and Deadlock from VOY. Although Death Wish from VOY is very good too. And Deja Q is the funniest episode in Trek, IMO. Especially when it comes to Q on TNG, I seem to more and more often root for Q. Kinda like how I do with Valiant. :p

But still...I'm not at all convinced that any of them would make the top 10.

See...this is what you get for not posting in here in a while. We go right off topic from our off topic thread. Which of course makes us ON topic.

It's a bit much. I mean, talking about DS9 in the DS9 forum...there's something very off about that.

Hello all

I hope everyone is doing well. I have a little headache today, but maybe that's just because of the work I've done today. Other than that, I'm doing well.

^ Happy birthday! :)

I'm doing pretty good. A little tired 'cause I haven't been sleeping well lately. Otherwise all is OK.

Hi, everybody!

I too am a Niner, mananged to see every epsiode, and I've wished that I could have seen the last epsiode at the Paramount Theater (now the Scotiabank Theater) in Toronto on the last day-would't have been hard, as the tickets were free! All I had to do was show up at CityTV and have a non-perishable food item ready to donate, but no, I fucked that up completly royally! Oh well, I've seen all DS9's and that's what counts.

Nice bar you have here, BTW; I'd retroize it a bit and have a Hard Rock Cafe style design for it, instead of anything Talaxian.

As for other TV shows; I'm currently watching both Mission: Impossible Season 2 and Doctor Who: Season One on DVD right now at 2:34 AM EST in Toronto as I type this.

^ Welcome to the Bar & Grill. :)

So how's everyone doing? I'm doing pretty well. I only have two days and two hours of work left for a while. I start my two weeks off work soon. :D I can't wait, hehe. Otherwise not much is going on with me. Work is good and overall I'm cool with the way most things are in my life right now.

Man, have I been busy! Work has been crazy-busy...and I am up to my eyebrows in stuff around my house too. And starting on Monday, it will get even worse, because Corporate Internal Audit will be here (for 4 - 6 WEEKS!) and they want me to 'switch sides' and help them with their audit....as an auditor. Yipes!

Must be that 13 years of public accounting in my background that piqued their interest. :p

Hope everyone is well.

Hi everyone! It's hard to talk over all this noise in here, but ... I'm new to the BBS (last month) but feel very comfortable here. All Star Trek Rocks, but DS9 rocks harder and better than the rest.

Kinda boring today. My students all have SAT practice exams, leaving me with nothing to do but surf the day away. It's at the end of the semester (tomorrow) so I don't even have to plan lessons. Only 7 more hours and I can go home!

Anyway, nice to meet y'all!

Well, good luck with the whole thing then. That's about the most useful thing I can say right now. ;) I barely got any sleep so I'm not quite here right now.

Hey, welcome to the board. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay. And yeah, DS9 does rock. :D

^ I'm sure you'll enjoy it. S6 is actually my favourite season of Trek ever.

Anyway, I'm feeling really good about myself right now. Here's why.

As some of you know, my g/f and I broke up a year and a half ago. We were together for well over five years, and that has been my only serious relationship so far. Until fairly recently I was also overweight, so you can imagine that both my skill at asking out women and my self-confidence sucked.

Well, with my recent weight loss, and the fact that I'm doing really well at work my self-confidence has improved. So for the last two months, during my lunch break, I've been going to this café close to where I work a lot (I usually go with one of my co-workers). And there's this waitress there that I get along with really well. She's really great, a lot of fun and sooooo damn hot. So for the last couple of weeks I've been wanting to ask her out, but whenever I was there I didn't have the guts to do it.

Today, around 5pm I was feeling really tired, so I went for a drive (I tell you, there's nothing better then dropping the top and going for a drive when you're tired or have a headache). On the way back home I drove past the café, so I parked my car went in and asked her out. She has a boyfriend, so that sucks. But hey, I actually found the courage to do it. So yeah, I'm feeling really good about that right now.

Oh yeah, I am now officially on vacation for the next two weeks. :D

^ Well, I think that's great!

And seriously - you have no reason to feel badly about yourself.

You are a very nice and kindhearted guy (big with girls), and I've seen your pic. And trust me, if I was about 15 years younger and lived in Solvenia, you would have no chance at all. Absolutely none. And I say that with all sincerity. :p

:guffaw:

So keep up the good work, kiddo! You have absolutely no reason to be worried about girls. Frankly, I'm surprised they are not fighting over you. ;)

^ Thanks. :) And I gotta admit that I do actually feel pretty good about myself.

One of my problems is that I don't go out all that much so it's hard for me to meet new people. I've made quite a few friends at work, but we don't really hang out much outside of work. I've been working on making new people, but it's sort of a slow process.

Oh well, I'm definitely feeling optimistic and overall I'm quite happy most of the time. :)
