^ Yes, it is difficult to meet new people these days, except at places you go to all the time, like work.

I think people in general are a bit leery of strangers - I know they are here, anyway. People barely know their neighbors in their neighborhood that they have lived by for years...so how can you expect 'em to get to know people in just a minute or two in a chance meeting?

It's tricky, IMO. Unless you go to church or have some sort of interest that alot of people have in common, and for which there are clubs and such around.

Can anyone in here tell me where I can go to get Heros screencaps and CLEAR publicity photos that are downloadable?

I think it's about time I did a desktop for that show.
 
^ No clue when you could get those screencaps and photos, sorry.

Anyway, this is sort of a big post for me. 16000 :D So I thought I'd post it in here. I won't be around all that much for the next couple of days. I'm going on vacation for a little while. ;)
 
Are we still keeping this thread alive or what?

How is everyone doing. I'm doing well and trying to keep busy in the Dog days of summer. Still working on getting the license which I hope will happen in early september.

This week I'm finding myself actually watching some Star Trek, which I haven't done in a while. Unfortunately not DS9, but the 5th season of Voyager as well as some TNG. Maybe this weekend I might watch some DS9, but it is nice to revisit some trek every now and again.
 
Ezri, you're new to the board and you don't know what we're like here in the DS9 forum. This thread will never get closed. This is like... the 8th incarnation and it will go on forever. :D When we get to a 1000 posts we'll just start another one.

tomalak301, of course we're still keeping it alive. Sometimes we just take... short breaks. :D Anyway, I'm doing well. I finished watching Buffy and Angel the other day (well I finished Buffy a couple of weeks ago, but I just finished Angel). I've now started watching Farscape and S2 of House.

Besides that, I'm slowly watching DS9; I'm four episodes into S4. Oh and I've also been playing Final Fantasy XII quite a bit.

Otherwise not much is going on. Work is good. Life is decent. I'm just a tad on the sleepy side. ;)
 
BigFoot I think I put my foot in my mouth to say it should be closed, or, is it your big foot :)
 
Just be glad BigFoot that I do not need breast feeding. Just be glad were both not nursing mothers trapped in a room alone for days on end :)

After a bit of a saga I finally have my copy of B5: The Lost Tales. Can't wait to watch it. :D

have ya tried the NBC website for the series?

Don't know how good the promos would be - I just see the sameone over and over of 'em lined up and lookin' off into the horizon with ever news article.

So how's everyone doing?

I'm doing well... I'm glad this (work) week is over cos I'm beat. Things are more or less the same with me. My whole weight-loss thingy has really slowed down in the last couple of weeks. But overall I've lost 39 kilos (86 pounds) so I'm not complaining. I could probably loose a couple more pounds and I might eventually, but I'm in no hurry. I'm healthy which is what I'm most happy about. And I actually treat myself to things like chocolate and Nutella every once in a while. ;)

My best friend's g/f (partner actually, they have a kid together) is throwing him a surprise b-day party tomorrow so I'm going to that. It should be fun, I know more then half the people that are gonna be there (three out of five, not counting me). ;) So yeah, I gotta go out and get him a present now.

I've been better. Some of you may know that i put in for a promotion at work to shift leader. Well my manager reminded me of a written warning i had received back in May for too many absences. So ... i am ineligible for promotion until that clears ... in October. So ... yeah.
 
^ Bummer. But I know how you feel.

As for me...well, things are okay, I guess. But work is still pretty terrible - Since the acquisition, people have been leaving left and right...and lately that rate has been accelerated as people here begin to realize that we are no longer eligible for any promotions within our own company. Every time something comes open, IBM sticks an IBM person in the slot, passing over people from my company who have been here for years and who have glowing performance reviews - the former 'movers and shakers' of this company. IBM bought our company because we were innovative...and more profitable than they were. But they are driving everyone off to the point where they may as well have not bought us at all. And they are installing 'managers' in droves...who are incompetent at best...and at worst don't do any work at all, as best we can determine. Overhead is climbing, profit margins are going down...and these idiots don't get that they are killing this company.

Used to be the best job I'd ever had. I LOVED it here, and I loved my job. Now? It's painful watching it all be killed.

Oh well...nothing lasts forever. Especially nothing good.
 
Hey all,

I decided today was a good day to post on this board again. I haven't for a little over a week, and I think I just needed some short time off. There were some things (Probably a cumulation of all summer long) that really irked me about this board and I needed to get away. I wasn't going to leave for good, but a break is always a good thing. Hope everyone is doing well.

I, on the other hand, am currently waitin' to hear about a job where I'm the only one who applied for it over the course of two days while they wait to make sure that there isn't anyone already workin' for 'em who wants to get promoted from within.

In other, totally unimportant news, I just watched Nana Visitor's first episode of Dark Angel on DVD. She looked evil as a bleached blonde.
