I'm not sure what you mean by the definition of badass, but songs that got me hype and some even ready to rumble:

(Nothing works quite the same as gangsta rap; though let me add that I find a lot of the language and imagery, especially pertaining to African Americans in gangsta rap objectionable, I still enjoyed these hardcore songs)

Listzomania and Good Vibrations, to be, are examples of great songs but not badass songs. For me, it has more to do with attitude than quality. IMO, that limits the genre to some degree. But it's definitely a thing where taste varies to quite a degree.

It's overplayed in recent years, but Rush's Tom Sawyer.. It was my introduction to the band and that opening synth line ALWAYS got the hair on my neck standing.

Same thing for ELP's Lucky Man.. Maybe not badass, but always gave me a reaction.

What a badass song is or isn't is highly subjective since everyone has different tastes. In my opinion, it has a lot to do not with how popular a song is, but by the musicianship, and then I guess by how it makes someone feel.

Bad to The Bone is awesome live. I was actually able to see those guys in concert a couple years back.

It just has to be your definition of badass in terms of a song being badass because it's everything you look for in a great song.

That too, which is why I said it was very subjective. I also feel it has to make its mark in the music industry and mean something to it. Something you can also look at and say, "Oh yeah, those guys are undeniably talented." Though there are also very talented people that never get their due because the music industry is too focused on the latest thing. In the end though it's a very personal thing. What may be badass to someone may not be to someone else.

When I think of the most badass songs I am thinking songs that have certain sections that becomes essentially timeless monuments that you admire and then bow down to it thinking how insignificant you are in the grand scheme of the universe.

Some examples

Baba O'Riley - The opening organ piece.
Beethoven's 9th symphony - Just listen to the choral section.
Tchaikovsky's 1812 overture - The climax (heard in movies like V Vendetta).
