Bad Spinoff Ideas

Peanuts: The Parents

Watch the lives of parents who never watch their young children and all have horrible speech impediments so they can only communicate by saying "Wah wah wah wah wah".

I like that Dark Shadows idea.. Pity the movie that came out a few years ago kind of sucked. I guess you can't remake classics and make them good and or funny, or good and funny.

I'd settle for a Dukes spinoff explaining what exactly the hell happened to everyone's parents.

Seriously. All we ever see of the Duke family are Uncle Jesse and a shit-ton of cousins. What happened to the respective parents of Bo, Luke and Daisy? Which one of those parents is Jesse's brother? (I'm guessing brother, because Jesse's last name is also Duke)? Are Coy and Vance - as I've always suspected - actually Bo and Luke's brothers?

I don't know where it came from, but it was my impression that Daisy was actually Jesse's daughter, and only called him "Uncle Jesse" because everyone else in the family did. And yes, there is much to the idea that Coy and Vance are Bo and Luke's brothers, who didn't get in as much trouble because Bo and Luke probably covered for them. Coy and Vance may have even been the ones that committed the crime(s) that Bo and Luke took the fall for.

Aunt May: A series all about the everyday life of May Parker, nice old lady who's oblivious to the secret life of her nephew Peter. And since she's oblivious to it and she's the star of the show, Spider-Man doesn't really come up save for the odd newspaper article.
If it still starred Marisa Tomei, I might watch this, to be honest. ;)

I liked "The Brady Bunch Movie" a lot - I think the secret is in accepting that these shows were kind of campy to begin with, and embracing it, while keeping all of the elements people loved. And being good at it. Okay, maybe those aren't secrets.

I just went and looked at the Dukes of Hazzard Wiki, and apparently, not only are Bo, Luke, Coy, Vance, and Daisy ALL cousins to each other (no brothers), but Jesse is uncle to all of them. But I agree that him being Daisy's dad was the impression I was under, as well. Maybe that was just because his demeanor was softer to her than to the rest of them.

At least they're not all inbred.

I wonder if that Wiki was written by casual fans who think they are inbred, and that the cousins are the result of the first generation to each have their own families?

Hey, there's a bad spinoff idea!

Do you mean the idea of showing that about the Dukes? Or the idea of following the fans as they write the wiki that way?

Because either way, yeah, pretty awful. ;)

But I agree that him being Daisy's dad was the impression I was under, as well.

I was under the impression that it was a term of affection, that he's a kindred father figure to all of them, but the show never went into dept to explain it, Just one of those weird things that was not well thought out, I guess. But then nobody really asked either and the official explanation fell into place.

Wouldn't that just be a ripoff of the Pakistani Daleks sketch?

I have never heard of that sketch.

I was thinking two American Daleks well give them red hats if you want to differentiate and each episode is comedy of them adjusting to life in the suburbs, dating, finding a job etc.

Terribly of its time, though. You couldn’t do that today.

You couldn't do that today because modern people and modern values have made people far too sensitive. They'd be offended by this video..... Reminds me I must put it online somewhere.

Forget Sex & The City we have Sex And The Dalek

Speaking of Daleks...

Daleks VS The Fashion World: The Daleks are now peaceful. Well, for the most part. They still have an intrinsical part of their programming of wanting to exterminate things, and the world government hires them on; their role, to EXTERMINATE awful fashion trends before they propagate.

This was inspired by a post I had seen on FB about some awful looking puffer-coat gowns. The top picture here is what was shown on FB, and while it looks slightly better without everything else, the last picture looks like some kind of villain.

OMG haahaha the picture at the top, they look like Fashion Daleks

Yeah, when it was shared with me, someone had mentioned they kind of look like Daleks :D

Also it looks more like something out of a dystopian fantasy story, more than anything with any practical sense.

I can see that too. Looks like what you'd see in the boondocks of some dystopia world.

They're like a Dalek Doomsday Cult or something. They should put them on Doctor Who. :rommie:
