Bad Spinoff Ideas

The Breaking Bad thread gave me an idea for a game. What is the worst idea for a spinoff you can possibly imagine? For example, a Breaking Bad prequel, "Ken Wins". The story of Ken, and how he became a successful investment banker with a winning personality.

No using this thread to bash exciting spinoffs you don't like. This is only for fake ones made up by you.

Rugrats: The Teenage Years.

The characters from Rugrats, when they grow up and go to high school.

An all-Reaver spinoff of Firefly.

Anything to do with existing Trek characters in their Starfleet Academy years.

Any attempt whatsoever to film Warhammer 40K.

A reboot of Police Squad! starring Ed Helms. Oh wait, they're actually doing that, aren't they?

A reboot of Police Squad! starring Ed Helms. Oh wait, they're actually doing that, aren't they?

A movie about the human characters from Godzilla movies without any actual monsters in it.

A Dr. Christmas Jones movie spinning off the character from "The World is Not Enough".

A Family Matters spin-off show about Eddie Winslow.

My idea for a bad spinoff:
Star Trek | The Pussy Generation
Follows the adventures of Data's cat Spot and his feline chums when Data is on duty.

Haha, I didn’t know they were doing that, why? Though the spinoff I had in mind would have them dealing with real teenage social lives, I doubt Nick will go in that direction.

Star Wars: Going Numb

Nien Numb prequel.

Half the ideas I come up with I stop and think “Wait, that could actually be awesome.” Like, “Yes, High Councilor.” A Yes Minister style comedy taking place in the Klingon Empire.

After the success of All Growed Up, the Rugrats 10th anniversary special, Nickelodeon commissioned All Grown Up! as a spin-off series based on the episode.[2] The series ran from 2003 to 2008 with a total of five seasons and 55 episodes.

I know... I know....

An all Odie spinoff of Garfield where Odie doesn't say or do anything for a whole episode.

A show taken from the bad guys point of view. We follow the adventures of several Dr Who bad guys as they try to win the day.

A reboot of Police Squad! starring Ed Helms. Oh wait, they're actually doing that, aren't they?

What's worst is I don't think it's suppose to be a comedy. Makes sense. Hire a a guy known for comedy and put it under something known for humor and then do a drama..

Anyways I got a few good idea's.


How about a "Cagney and Lacy" reboot starring the actor who played Turtle on "Entrouge" and Lou Ferrigno.

"Sopranos" spin-off starring Anthony Jr as the new mob boss of the family.


A "Charles in Charge" and "Happy Days" spin-off, crossover series were Scott Baio plays a older Charles who now runs a halfway house for ex-con's and one of them is a even older Chachi who has been in out of prison every since he killed Joanie one night being a drunk driver and his life has tailspined ever since that night. It will be a role of the lifetime as he gets to play two versions of two different characters already established but in different places in their lives from their old shows.

What's worst is I don't think it's suppose to be a comedy. Makes sense. Hire a a guy known for comedy and put it under something known for humor and then do a drama..

Frank Drebin is not supposed to be a comedic figure.

As Leslie Nielsen (who, it should be noted, was known as a serious dramatic actor before breaking into comedy with Police Squad! and Airplane!) originally played him, Drebin is a good cop, the ultimate "straight man" who is oblivious to the hilarity going on around him. The "Naked Gun" movies turned Drebin into a parody of himself and made him into a bumbling idiot, completely missing the whole point of the character.

So if Ed Helms plays Drebin serious, as was originally intended, I'm all for it. If this is how the reboot goes, I take back any and all criticism that I made.

(True, I would have hoped for Michael Hogan to play Drebin, but you take what you can get... )

A reboot of Knight Rider with Michelle Knight and a brand new KITT. Just to be sure we'll take on every social media cliche we can find.

A Trek spin off set on an all Vulcan ship.

A reboot of "General Hospital" on the TBN network starring Chad Goodhair and Mindy Adorkable as a couple of high school kids that died in the 90's and hang around the hospital as ghosts and make friends with the patients and doctors and talk about their love of the Bible.

IRS Agents of SHIELD: Coulson goes rogue again when he decides that it's time for President The Donald to reveal his tax returns.

"Adams Family" reboot were the Adams family finally sells out and ditches the pre-Goth ,but they didn't know it would someday be called Goth look and embrace the world of JCPenny and The Gap style of clothes and move to Vermont and take boring routine jobs such as Insurance Salesman and Mailman.

That's actually not a bad idea.

It might be interesting for an episode or 2, but then with Vulcans just Vulcaning things will get boring pretty fast.

What would make for an interesting watch is a ship made up of Vulcans and Romulans and maybe the odd Reman.

I actually think the Odie spinoff could work, just have him be the likable dummy getting wrapped up in crazy situations.

The Anthony Jr spinoff I agree would be especially bad after the entire series developer him into a confused sensitive kid who can’t emotionally handle violence.

Speaking of sequels that completely reverse character development, another Breaking Bad sequel, “Junior”. Flynn White, in a place where he’s fighting being associated with his criminal father. Sees his mother being crushed under legal debt. He is getting As in chemistry class, he’s a natural. He comes up with his father’s formula on his own. He thinks, just this once, to help my mother.

The first season finale has him becoming the world’s first handicapped drug kingpin. And ends with. “No, Flynn, stop! I’ll forget this ever happened, we both just walk away!” “The name’s Walter Jr.”. BANG!

Entrouge:Branson=Just like CSI and NCIS and all those shows you expand the brand to a new place of the entertainment industry for each series. Follow a Wayne Newton type and his 3 best friends as they live it up in the tour attraction meca that is Branson, Missouri. Every week, Not Wayne Newton finds himself hooking up with the hottest housewifes and sexually repressed women that America has to offer. He is constantly trying to figure out which Casino or Hotel he wants to perform in. Does he want to go do something bigger in Vegas. Thrill as he helps his kind and friendly 80 year old agent Maury Rosenberg recover from a hip surgery by keeping him company and running errands for him while he does business for him on his fancy landline phone.
