Babylon 5

So Lyta was able to scan (thankfully) Garibaldi and confirm that Bester altered his brain. Sheridan was rescued and the humans and aliens (really liked Londo’s speech) put up a united front! But Ivanova is on death’s door.

At this point I’m just going to finish the series tonight. The last few episodes had me white-knuckled!

Was it an ironic comment that Garibaldi got stabbed in the back moments after he stabbed Sheridan in the back, or are are we supposed to say "Hey you got stabbed in the back, and 2 years ago you got shot in the back... and our gaze focuses on those episodes from yore, to help us sort out the next piece of chaos."

PS

"Everyone knows that Mars was the god of War Wade. You're not that smart."

I liked that even though Sheridan had to resign, he was able to still get around it, and became the President of the new alliance. And the ending with Londo and G’Kar was nice, especially with the missing eye.

The season finale wasn’t that great. I know that they already filmed the finale and then got renewed so they had to make a new season finale. I did like the scene where Londo was confused about the wedding celebration being a happy event!

Next up is In The Beginning and then season 5.

I find the Centauri wedding customs to be eminently reasonable.

I've always felt it off that Stephen gets a vote.

How is he on the command staff just because he patches up their booboos?

But it's even more crazy that he's given a white Star to command, when he's racing off to save Marcus!

Every Ranger on that ship should doubt their importance in the universe, that they have to take orders from a bloke with no formal education in War at all, just because he's memorized the names of 206 bones.

Oh.

The Shadows plan.

Kill Ivanova, Sheriden and Delenn, and corrupt Michael.

Okay...

If that had happened, was it Stephens job to take out Dark Garibaldi?

Or do we have to wait for Corwin to grow a pair?

Dr. Franklin held the rank of Lt. Commander for the entire run of the series. In “In The Beginning” he is a Lieutenant, and by “Sleeping In The Light” he is a General. So he wasn’t just a civilian doctor that worked for the military.

Doctors start at Lieutenant, without having to go through bootcamp or officer school, and get promotions so that they can look after patients that are of a higher rank, to order them to bend over and cough.

Being good at doctoring, should not mean that you get to make decisions about soldiering during a crisis.

Frank Burns was a Major, and could boss (Captain) Hawkeye around in MASH probably because he took ROTC in High School, and that's the distinction in 300 dollars a month pay.

Potter was a Doctor and a soldier.

I have no idea how Henry got that gig at the 4077.

It's weird, but VIPs being transported on White Stars typically got to sit in the center seat, regardless of actual command ability. There was Garibaldi in "A Call to Arms," and he's also not a ship captain. Delenn could be an example, too, since she didn't seem to have much experience is actual warship battle-tactics, though as leader of the Rangers, she clearly had some degree of command authority and knowledge of combat. IIRC, though, most of the times she "captaining" a White Star was either using it as a transport, and didn't really intend to use it as a warship, though she frequently ended up having to.

It's probably a Minbari thing. Yeah, that's the ticket. If Marcus or Lennier had been taxiing Lorien around rather than Ivanova, they probably would've let him sit in the big chair, too. It'd also mean Bester had the etiquette right when he sat in the center chair of the White Star that one time, despite Sheridan's annoyance. Ironically, the only thing that counts against it is Lennier saying it was a special treat that he kicked the captain off the White Star that was taking Sheridan and Delenn to Minbar at the end of the series so they could be in command of the ship, and not SOP as I propose.

Garibaldi was in Earthforce for many years and was a senior staff member of B5 for more than 4 years, so it fits he could be in command in "A CALL TO ARMS".

Maybe during the war.

But by the time we met him, Garibaldi was a private contractor who worked for Babylon 5, even if earthforce paid his wages.

Edgars Industries built The Destroyer Class White Stars.

Until the job was finished, they were his ships.

Earthforce Security CorpsEdit
Earthforce Security is the branch of Earthforce that employs and trains appropriately qualified peace officers from the local population to act as a security force on all Earthforce ground and space stations (starship security being handled by the Marine Corps.) Like any police force, Earthforce Security personnel are required to enforce the civil laws of the Earth Alliance and adhere to the rule of due process. Various people in the service have different clearance levels. Garibaldi, for example, holds clearance "ultraviolet alpha" which contextually seems to be a high clearance level.[2]

Edgars was a medical and biotech company, I'm pretty sure Garibaldi was just moonlighting as Sheridan's special representative on the Excalibur project.

In The Beginning was really good! I liked how everyone was interconnected and seeing the events that happened during the war.

I noticed that we didn’t see Vir or Garibaldi.

Claudia Christian did not pass for a teenager.
