Babylon 5

^^ Same here. I like her.

I just meant don't feel like you're trying to force yourself to watch it--if you like it that's great and I will look forward to your thread on that show--if you don't like it then don't force yourself to watch it.
Thanks. I wouldn't really be one to force myself to watch if I don't like it. But I do want to at least give it another try.

I've watched the first 3 episodes of season 4. Again, I am struck by the organic way this tale unfolds. A mad Emperor, a First One, a Vorlon fleet... all new things thrown into the already complex mix. So many questions raised. Are the Sci cops in league with the Shadows, why was Garibaldy released? Will Londo make good on his promise to G'Kar? Did G'Kar really break? Of course these are all rhetorical questions. Please don't answer them!!

IMO, Cartagia is easily one of the highlights of the show (I'm not sure where you are just now, so I'll avoid details as best I can.)
It's one of those rare instances where the actor just got it and pulled it off flawlessly. It's very easy to get it wrong too, balancing whimsy, charm and blood freezing mortal dread all in one performance.
I always liked Londo's reactions and how they shifted in trying to deal with him. It started off with him not taking the Emperor at all seriously "Your Majesty. I swear you have not changed since the last few times I saw you..." Then when he realises what kind of creature he's dealing with it's suddenly like that (ironically) Bill Mumy 'Twilight Zone' episode where everyone is standing around smiling, trying not to set off the kid with the god-like powers. The bit of business with the court jester is fairly emblematic of this.

P.S. Just FYI, but it's spelt "Psi Cops", as in the Greek letter ' Ψ ' that's the symbol of the Psi Corps. Officially I think their name is actually MetaPol (short for Meta-sensory Police) and Psi Cops are just a nickname, but that's only ever mentioned in the (canon) books.

And the pronunciation is different. psi corp, psy corp, sci corp... not wanting you being confused.

^Who's confused?
And so long as we're being pedantic it's "corps" (pronounced like "core") which comes via French from the Latin word "corpus", meaning "body" (see also: corpse), which in this case refers to a body of people in the paramilitary sense.
It's not "corp", which is short for "corporation". That's something else altogether.

What an incredible mind it took to put this story together. So many details, so many threads. My hat is off to JMS. We now know why G'Kar wears an eye patch in Londos dreams of the future.
Yes...it's a shame that G'kar's eye did not see Cartagia's splendor and that Londo did not save it, isn't it? ;)

I was right. Now we have to deal with the President and Psych-Core.
I love that Garibaldy has a Daffy Duck fetish. Lol.
DisneyPlanet?

The Illusion of Truth. Wonderful commentary on the media. How certain facts can be manipulated any which way the commentator chooses. How timeless this is, especially today when every "news" outlet is more about their agenda then the actual truth.

There's a scene in Zootopia (good film, better story than I expected) that kind of mirrors that episode, in the sense that the people being interviewed manage to say all the things that they believe to be true and which sound reasonable, but which on further thought are just begging to be misinterpreted and manipulated.

Agree.

"The Illusion of Truth" is especially more relevant now than it was when the episode first aired. Both sides of the political aisle in the US have their news network propaganda arms, where talking heads push an agenda than an objective truth.

"The Illusion of Truth" was very powerful and still is...that whole arc is still especially relevant. I am curious though as to how Kail felt about the resolution to the Shadow War.

I enjoyed the outcome. It made sense, it made a statement. It also felt slightly anti-climactic. Such a long build up, and it seemed to be over quickly. It was a good episode for Londo. He kept his word to G'Kar, and was even willing to sacrifice his own life to save his planet. It could be considered noble, if he hadn't been the one to bring it all down on them in the first place. Also, I was confused about Mr. Morden. He got cured awfully fast. Loved Vir's little wave to his head on the pike, just as promised. The guy that they put in charge, seems a bit weak willed for the job.

The Regent? He's a great character with ideas. I'm thinking, pastels.

Yeah and the actor who plays the Regent does a really good job, especially later in the series when he gets a chance to be more than comic relief.
