Babylon 5

The only thing that I can see being done with Babylon 5 now is a reboot of some kind.

And that whole thing with the closing credits of "Sleeping in Light" gives them an easy out:

As opposed to the "it was all some kind of holodeck" thing that SiL proclaimed the original series to be...all they'd need to do is have the "new" B5 be the way things REALLY happened. :)

Wow, a lot of deaths I was unaware of.

Does Bester die in a way I'm unaware of?

Edit: Laurel Takashima and her actress are both alive. Not sure that counts but she was a main character for one episode.

Also both Na'Toths. And from the research, wait, she's Grilka?

Yes, she is.

Original Na'Toth has also been Ty Kajada in "THE PASSENGER", and one of the mercenaries in the "Gambit" two-parter.

She also played Captain Sheridan's attorney in "There All The Honor Lies"

IIRC it was one of the biggest mega-corps on Mars and had it's fingers in a lot of pies. Enough that the board were worried about the personal blowback post-independence. Plus it's called 'Edgars Industries' not something like 'Edgars Pharmaceuticals', so while the pharmaceutical side of things may be what they're best known for, it's probably far from the limit of their portfolio.

Hell, even here in the real world any company above a certain size is expected to diversify to protect the stock price, and it's kinda scary how diverse and far reaching the really big ones have gotten...
Yeah, if you really dig deep, it's kind of amazing just how varied the companies owned by the big corporations are.

Some characters were implied to have died by SiL. Others are said to have died by characters who weren't known for their honesty. Others would have died in Crusade episodes that were scripted but not made, or in authorised books (Garibaldi attends Bester's funeral, just in case).
So there is wriggle room on some.

As far as I know, no major characters died in any of the unproduced scripts. And while Bester was slated to appear in the Crusade episode "Value Judgments", he didn't die in it and there was no funeral for him.

In the (canon) Psi-Corps novels, Bester died in prison not long after Sheridan went on his "Sunday drive" and disappeared.

They actually managed to keep Bester in prison? How's that work?

I mean, as powerful a telepath as he was...did they have to give him some sort of drug to suppress that?

I think Bester is no longer in prison and Garibaldi catches up with him in Paris but I can't for the life of me remember how the denouement in Final Reckoning - The Fate of Bester plays out.

Sleepers. The same thing they did to Ivanova's mom and Bester himself in "Dust to Dust". IIRC there's a moment when he asks/begs the person administering them to skip just one dose.

Asbo: You pretty much got that right. IIRC Garbaldi's right hand manages to wing Bester with a sedative and/or sleeper, which is the only reason why Garibaldi manages to get the upper hand.

Franz's daughter would be over 20 years old by that point.

The actress ho played Mary, Sharon Arnette seems to be over 20.

Imdb CLAIMS she played a Communications Officer on Space Above and Beyond, in 1995, although that was a very young cast, military academy + technical academy would put Sharon in her mid 20s two years before sleeping in the light was filmed.

Obviously we've seen 30 year olds convincingly play much younger all over TV and movies.

Also, I may have been thinking about Mary earlier, but Deborah is still around, and she had three daddies.

Debbie, who was probably adopted by Bill, had her own pay day in her second daddy's last will and testament.

If she liked daddy 2 better than daddy 3, she could prove to be a problem down the line.

Franz left Mars with Deborah for Earth and got full custody with his new wife who he'd been cheating on Lise with, and fully intended to never tell the child Lise existed and that his new wife would be the only mother she'd ever know. Combined with the fact that Bill Edgars was murdered when Deborah would've been two or so, I don't think there's a huge chance of her fighting her unknown biological mother and unknown stepfather for her other unknown stepfather's fortune in court.

The funeral is in a novel in the Psi-Corps trilogy.

I'm watching The Gathering special edition for the first time and I'm enjoying it. I watched the original version at some point in the 90s and was apprehensive coming back, but it's a lot more solid now. Sinclair is a lot more fiery than I thought he was. Tamlyn Tomita is probably the best part to me. I always loved that strong female commander type like Shane Vansen or Sarah Connor. Bummed that she won't reappear though. I don't know if anyone's done a comparison video but it might be fun to show differences between the two editions. Like I was sure Delenn had a processed voice and am wondering if Mira redubbed her or I am just mistaken. And so I've never seen Season 1 or much of Season 2 before so it'll be fun to check these out.

Mira was indeed processed to sound androgynous at first. The original idea was that we weren't sure what gender she was until she became a female Human/Minbari after the Chrysalis.

IiRC, the original idea was that she would be exposed as the traitor who poisoned Kosh late in season two.
