Isn't that the truth!
Perhaps we can change the topic? I'm starting to be uncomfortably reminded of when a friend of mine told me he would never boycott Chick-Fil-A because their chicken nuggets were delicious and a boycott would be useless.
Why would one want to boycott Chick-Fil-A? They are the cleanest well run fast food joints around.
I really don't want to poke at this one, but you should look into their treatment of the LGBT community.
I’m boycotting Nestle. I’d only boycott an actor who is actively harming people.
He did pretty much the same thing on The Outer Limits a few years ago. Of course this was way before you-know-who, but there we are.
Forbin wins the thread.
To drag this thread back to a more directly-related tangent, JMS's autobiography, "Becoming Superman" comes out today. It'll probably be a few weeks before I can read it, but the early excerpts and stories he's told in the past few years about his childhood were incredibly harrowing.
Apparently there's an option to get signed copies of the book, but having bought the B5 scriptbooks previously, I'm...a little JMSed out in general.
I still love BB and Jerry Doyle, they were the best, and CC was one of my favourite female leads, and I love Talia Winters
Or have any friends in real life.
I dunno, most of my friends, broadly, have the same politics I do. (shrug)
I just don't see why we should knock on people for not being comfortable watching tv/films featuring actors who have political views that they have problems with. It may not be something we ourselves embrace, but it seems a legitimate choice on their part.
Lord knows I have trouble rewatching Kevin Spacey films these days.
If you have problems with actors on B5 you should probably avoid B5 threads.
If everyone who had a problem with any actor in Star Trek avoided the TrekBBS we'd have a much quieter forum.
Sadly, it looks as if JMS has become blind
He had surgery on his eyes. He sees 20/25 now.
That's good. Whew!
Actually, the story says he's had some experimental surgeries recently and his vision is back to 20/25, better than he's ever seen before. But his vision problems were so severe in the mid-2000s that he had to quit writing comics. But he's still writing, now turning to plays and novels.
Ninja'd by Gary Mitchell!
Uh the problems with Spacey ain't his personal politics. Bad analogy dude.
Separate names with a comma.
