Babylon 5

Perhaps we can change the topic? I'm starting to be uncomfortably reminded of when a friend of mine told me he would never boycott Chick-Fil-A because their chicken nuggets were delicious and a boycott would be useless.

Thank you.

Why would one want to boycott Chick-Fil-A? They are the cleanest well run fast food joints around.

Side note: BB just did a stint on the 'Supergirl' tv show where he played a very clear parody (if one could even call it that at this point) of what the right wing has become, so I think it's safe to say he's not on board with what's going on at the moment.

He did pretty much the same thing on The Outer Limits a few years ago. Of course this was way before you-know-who, but there we are.

To drag this thread back to a more directly-related tangent, JMS's autobiography, "Becoming Superman" comes out today. It'll probably be a few weeks before I can read it, but the early excerpts and stories he's told in the past few years about his childhood were incredibly harrowing.

Apparently there's an option to get signed copies of the book, but having bought the B5 scriptbooks previously, I'm...a little JMSed out in general.

I dunno, most of my friends, broadly, have the same politics I do. (shrug)

I just don't see why we should knock on people for not being comfortable watching tv/films featuring actors who have political views that they have problems with. It may not be something we ourselves embrace, but it seems a legitimate choice on their part.

Lord knows I have trouble rewatching Kevin Spacey films these days.

If you have problems with actors on B5 you should probably avoid B5 threads.

Uh the problems with Spacey ain't his personal politics. Bad analogy dude.
