Babylon 5 - I'm finally going to do it

I started watching the show at the end of the fourth season and then read synopses of the previous episodes, so watching S1-4 was an unfortunately hollow experience for me because I already knew everything that would happen :( As such, "Sky Full of Stars" is a completely hollow experience for me since it's all about teasing a mystery I know the answer to. "Deathwalker" I actually found pretty enjoyable. I liked the Earth/League/Dilgar backstory.

 What has crying got to do with sexuality? I don't understand that comment.

Neither do I. I finished watching the show yesterday straight through for the sixth time, and I didn't cry at the end.

Then you are just dead inside... touched by a shadow perhaps? ;)

Nah. I'm just not a cryer. Never have been.

Well...except when my grandparents and my mom died, but those instances were a little different, wouldn't you say?

Thanks for spoiling the new person's experience. Great job. :bolian:

Whose spoiling whose experience? So far this thread has been going well. The only thing I found out that I'm disappointed by is on twitter I found out the whole reason for the Minbari Surrender does not come at the end of the season. I thought it did, since O'Hare supposedly leaves the series other than a few guest appearances.

You get an explanation for it early in season 2. It is not the complete explanation, which comes later.

Great series, you should have a wonderful time.

This is like the 10,000th "I'm watching B5" thread in the past few weeks. Must be something in the water!

Heck, my wife decided to watch season 3 over all by herself in her hobby room while she builds dollhiouse furniture. How can I not love a woman like that?

(Meanwhile, I'm watching Farscape in my own workshop...)

Believers

Well, it had to happen sometime. This episode sucked. I really didn't care for the whole religious stuff with the parents and the boy, and I actually feel a bit insulted as someone who is a Catholic. I guess I have the words of Sinclair to go on, but Franklin in this episode just came across really really bad. I think the less said about this one the better and just move on. However, not all was lost. Ivanova is improving gradually. I really liked that she finally was able to get off the command center and into a fighter. Her thing to Sinclair at the beginning (About nitting something) was funny.

I must say though I really love the B5 theme song. Not really have anything to do with the episode, but just this is a theme if I had the DVDs I probably wouldn't fast forward.

Well, enjoy it while it lasts. The theme changes every season.

I know. I youtube it every now and again. I love all of them. They, in themselves, makes a nice little story.

Survivors

Now that's more like it. Great episode, and nice to see we finally get an episode featuring Garibaldi and a very hot chick. Kemmer was dang attractive, especially at the end with the hair down. Speaking of hair down, Ivanova was also very attractive with the hair down. I wonder what it is with female actresses having free hair that gets me. Seems it's a common feature.

Anyway, much better than what came before, and I liked what was said about humanity at the end. In fact, I do like what this show is saying about humanity, and letting us know that this is an entirely different animal than Trek. I guess given the time it aired (at the height of Trek's popularity), I really like how different this show is. Anyway, the scenes with Garibaldi at the bar were funny too.

Wait until you'll watch "TKO" (1x14)... muhahahahaha. But don't worry, after that abomination you'll have left the worst behind you and it is a relatively smooth sailing from there on. :)

Believers is one of those polarizing episodes that people seem to either love or hate. Don't judge Franklin too harshly, he was caught up in trying to save the boy's life.

At the risk of pointing out the obvious, had you noticed that Commander Tomalak of Trek and G'Kar of B5 were played by the same actor?

Oh, as one who despises organised religion and feel sorry for those who follow it blindly, I looooved believers!
