From this thread over on Reddit. It's interesting how history doesn't repeat but seems to form patterns of the same kind of things, like the political officer on the left and the press secretary on the right. Both seem to be a type. I think it's called the Fox News Look. Just it's so cool and eerie how B5 nailed that look.

Political Officer looks a bit Hilary Clinton.
 
I see exactly what you're getting at. Autocratic leaders thinking the uneducated masses are so ignorant they'll trust anything told to them by a traditionally attractive face. Sad thing is, they're right. Same thing applies to advertising as well which uses the same techniques refined by numerous nations in WW2.
