Aw, crud! Margaret Clark is gone now, too.

And let's not forget the library listing for an anthology I co-edited years ago:

TOMORROW SUCKS,Cox.

As God is my witness, I didn't do that on purpose!

I remember, I was trying to remember what that was like, two years ago. I was telling someone, "Yeah, there was this really funny thing with Greg Cox's name in an index or something. It'll come to me sooner or later," but it never did.

And so the circle of life continues.

As I recall, it was Josepha Sherman who first pointed it out to me . . . .

She'll kill me for mentioning it, but a friend of mine, who used to type up our bimonthly Star Trek newsletter - very, very quickly! - in the late 80s, earned the nickname "Fingers", but we didn't notice till the big offset-printing day that her "thank you" credit now read:

Leonie "Fingers" Cox.

 Thank you for cheering me up tonight, Therin.

I'm kind of surprised Margaret hasn't come on here yet and said anything to us yet. I understand if she doesn't want to right now.

And in comparison to Marco Margaret never was that active here anyway. She made a post or two every few weeks, but that basically was it. So why should she change that behavior now?

Yeah, Margaret's not as much of an online communicator as Marco or Keith. In my experience, working on a project with her involved a lot more phone calls and a lot fewer e-mails than with those guys.

Years ago I met a guy called Cox Tucker, and that's no joke.

There's a man in my town named Richard Head. Why would a parent do that to a child?

My local paper had an engagement announcement a few years ago for a woman with the last name Swallows, marrying a fellow named Cox. True story, I swear.

In standard format, they printed her photograph, under the headline

SWALLOWS - COX

There is nothing better than this. Nothing.

According to the info I've been given, Margaret is indeed freelancing for Pocket.

While I am very glad that Margaret is working again (working being MUCH better than not working), I hate companies that do the "freelance" thing with their employees. Same with ones who use ever rotating "temp" workers...

Yeah, but it opens up opportunities in this economy for some who might not have been able to get full-time jobs. I'm finding this economy is actually helping me get contracts as a freelancer.

I've still no idea who we're actually supposed to pitch stuff *to* nowadays...

The magic name today is...... (sounds of drums....)
Jaime Costas

She still seems rather busy setting things setup etc, but she is your woman!

Glad to hear Margaret is back for the SOTL as well! :)
