Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

Don't be so silly.

Don't be so silly.
I wonder if they'll re-image Jarvis using Meghan Fox? She can bend from the waist when she serves tea and strike a blow for feminism.

Why on Earth would they do that in a Joss Whedon movie ?
Joss has struck enough blows (usually over the head with a saucepan - see Anya the Man Hating Demon, Buffy the Vampire Slayer season seven, Dollhouse, River Tam and so on) for feminism in his time. I don't think we need to waste any more time on that subject in this movie.
Hmm... true. Rosie O'Donnell then? Ooh ooh - Whoopi Goldberg! She'd be great as Jarvis.

Or, we could just stick with Paul Bettany as the movies have already established ?
Aaahh! It's my age, I forget little details like that easily. So Whoopi can still be a J.A.R.V.I.S avatar? Everybody's happy!

Well, apart from the fact that if I see Whoopi Goldberg in this movie I'll walk out and ask for my money back, sure.

Owned by FOX apparently, which SUCKS! Only because she's Magneto's daughter.
WHEAAAAATOOOOOOOON!
Shooting is tenative but may start around Jan/Feb 2011."It was very exciting — and I realized I had some pretty big shoes to fill. Those were my heroes up there! I was a comic book fan growing up. I loved The Hulk and The Avengers — it’s just strange to be entering that world as an actor. I never would have imagined that before."
As far as the character itself, Ruffalo had this to say:
"He’s a guy struggling with two sides of himself — the dark and the light — and everything he does in his life is filtered through issues of control. I grew up on the Bill Bixby TV series, which I thought was a really nuanced and real human way to look at The Hulk. I like that the part has those qualities."
And some thoughts on taking over the role from his friend Edward Norton after the latter's public feud with Marvel:
"I’m a friend of Ed’s, and yeah, that wasn’t a great way for all that to go down. But the way I see it is that Ed has bequeathed this part to me. I look at it as my generation’s Hamlet."
IIRC Jan was pretty young, possibly just out of college. While Hank was an older well established scientist and a widower.^Yes, I'm the one being 'silly'.![]()
I rather like Ann HecheShe's got pretty good comic timing and the Wasp always struck me as having a motormouth. I think she's of comparable age to Nathan Fillion, Downey Jr, and Paltrow isn't she? Is she hated in Hollywood or do people think the Wasp is likely to be cast as a real youngster? I admit, I never saw the Wasp as a young un, I always thought of her as more mature, of comparable age to her husband, who as an experienced scientist, doesn't really fit a very young man.
