Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

Yeah, booing Ruffalo was rude. As much as I wanted Ed Norton to be Banner, I hold no animosity toward the actor replacing him. In fact, I would think him crazy to not take the role. Now booing Kevin Feige? Well, still rude, but at least it would be directed in the right direction.

What did people think would happen? That he would get clapping? Ruffalo probably shouldn't have even gone to Comic-Con, since many fanboys are still pissed about Norton being kicked off.

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

Ruffalo should have come on-stage dressed as Ed Norton or something. Then he could play Ed Norton as Bruce Banner in The Avengers. Everybody wins.

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

What we need is 10 million dollars for facial reconstruction for Ruffalo to become Norton. Norton catches on and changes his face to Ruffalo. Guaranteed blockbuster.

Avengers now slated to start filming in Feb 2011.
SuperHeroHype has learned that Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios are planning to start shooting The Avengers in February, 2011 for a May 4, 2012 release.
Directed by Joss Whedon, the anticipated film stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow and Clark Gregg as Agent Phil Coulson.

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

Alas, I've already read one magazine article reporting that Renner is going to play "Hawkman" in the new movie.

Sigh. I wonder how often that is going to happen between now and 2012 . . . .

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

until Jeremy reveals how he's got REALLY good with a longbow and will shoot anyone who does it in the head from 500 yards away, behind a tree.

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

This is gonna be a really long thread if it continues for another two years. I loved that "Pre-Made" Avengers trailer thought it was really done well.

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

Almost all male cast, so far:shifty: I wonder why Hollywood is still so scared of Superheroines:rolleyes:
I mean, they have plenty to choose from the Marvels ladies.
I hope we see Wasp added to the roster:)
Looking forward of seeing this..with Whedon directing, im sure this will be a good one:bolian:

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

Nick Fury is the only black "superhero" on that team as well, which is even somewhat understandable since there aren't a lot of minorities on The Avengers. It would have been nice had another female superhero had been added like Wasp but understandably so that's a pretty big line-up for one film.

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

I would have liked Wasp to be on the team even if Eva Longoria played her (I know those rumors were shot down by her). Perhaps in the sequel we'll get additional female cast members like Wasp and Ms. Marvel added.

Falcon, Monica Rambeau in her various guises, Black Panther, (Black) Goliath, Triathlon, Rage, Luke Cage...

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

It's possible the rights to the Black Panther are tied up elsewhere. I know there's been sporadic talk of a BLACK PANTHER movie over the years. And whatever happened to that proposed animated series anyway?

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

Seems Black Widow will be the only female Avenger, but to expect more females in the supporting roles as non-Avengers.
"It is true that the movie is only going to have one female Avenger, but she will not be the only female character," he told them, which makes us think some of the women from the other Marvel movies--maybe Gwyneth Paltrow's Pepper Potts from the "Iron Man" movies?--would be making appearances in the movie.

Let's think further outside the box of Pepper Potts. What other non-Avenger female characters are there that could appear. Perhaps ones that are non-powered when we meet them, then later they are.
Ms.Marvel perhaps?
Janet VanDyne, retconned to working with Stark Inc or something?
I'm fine with Potts having a cameo or small role but would like to see the stage set for more female Avengers down the road should sequels emerge.

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

I've said before I think they should take a page from the Ultimate U and make Carol Danvers Fury's XO. Then she can get a sizeable role in the S.H.I.E.L.D. film Jackson is signed up for, possibly wind up empowered by the end of it.

Otherwise, perhaps Sharon Carter? If this is the film where Cap wakes up, she could have a small role as an attaché or something of the sort, which then becomes an important role in the next modern-era Captain American film.

Hmm, Maria Hill?

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

Peggy Carter is going to be in the Cap movie, so Sharon Carter should be the logical extension of that.

Maybe Maria Hill and Victoria Hand as SHIELD commanders?

Re: AVENGERS - movie Discussion, News, Interviews, Pics till release 2

Janet worked for SHIELD on the super-soldier programme in Ultimates before becoming Wasp.

Carol Danvers is a SHIELD operative in Ultimate Marvel and replaced Fury when he was left in the Supreme Power verse. She's still currently running Ultimate SHIELD

Maria Hill(?) the female SHIELD director from 616 recently.

Betty Ross from the Hulk flicks could appear. (will Liv return?)

there's other female SHIELD agents, including Bobbi Morse aka Mockingbird and Sharon Carter who played a large role in Ultimate Spider-Man...
