I've not seen one shot of the hulk in this film that looks at all real.
What does a real Hulk look like?
Realistic.

I like the Hulk's current image, which has verisimiltude without attempting to be slavishly realistic. Iin all likelihood, we haven't yet seen finished shots anyway.

That reminds me, is Lou Ferrigno going the be voicing the Hulk again? Or is he going back to being silent?

As flawed as it was, I was still blown away by Ang Lee Hulk's appearance. Probably just because CGI had advanced enough to even ballpark him like that. As a viewing experience, I enjoyed watching that creature move more than I enjoyed watching TIH's Hulk creature. That probably comes down to the amount of the wow-factor involved while viewing it.

I still think Ang Lee's Hulk looked really good, too. A bit cartoonish compared to modern CGI, but the animation totally sells it imho: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5JsDylEPNh0

I don't know. maybe it's not possible.

But I've seen other fantastical or non-existent SFX creatures on film that look absolutely real, if done with proper technique. Things like the T-Rex in Jurassic Park.

this Hulk looks like the hulk from the comic or cartoon, with appropriate shading and lighting. I guess that's all we can ask for. Maybe it's appropriate. but it doesn't amaze me at all.

Spider-man is the Amazing one...

Ok so Ferrigno was "smaller" than the comic book Hulk, but even in the mid-90s when he briefly competed again, he was 6'41/2" and competed at 311 pounds, 36 more pounds of pure muscle than the 70s Ferrigno. Wow At age 57 he recently appeared on the cover of Ironman Magazine: http://www.ironmanmagazine.com/site/lou-ferrigno/

I think he looks a bit more Ruffalo-ish

I think Ruffalo resembles Bill Bixby more closely than Bana or Norton did. Not twins of course but closer featurely s.

Lou's makeup was partially designed to make him more look like Bixby. With the nose piece in particular.

So maybe intentionally or not with the overall proportions of this Hulk design and skin tone it does look both Ferrigno-ish and Ruffalo-ish to me.

I am glad Lou is returning to voice the Hulk. With Edward Norton out he is the only casting continuity for the character from the previous film.

Ruffalo reminds me of Bixby a bit as well, which is cool. I'm really looking forward to seeing his version of Banner in this film.

I'm pretty sure there was an interview with Joss a while back where he stated exactly that, that he was going for a Bill Bixby vibe with the Hulk this time around.
