Avengers Infinity War (and beyond) anticipation thread

I can't remember which for sure, but I saw a headline on either CBR or Io9 about Fury not being in Infinity War.
Ah, that's too bad if that's true. I was disappointed that he wasn't in Civil War as well, but that worked out, so maybe it will here, too. When was the last time we saw him chronologically?

On the far right on the TV? Yes. Lang.
No, on the far left, with Wasp on Hawkeye's arrow.

I just double checked the MCU Wiki, and his bio doesn't have anything past Age of Ultron.

Oh, I see. When you say is that also Scott Lang, you mean is it ALSO Scott, as in both on TV and on the arrow. Duh me, right? :)
Yeah, that's what I was going for. I probably wasn't entirely clear.

Seems odd that he's disappeared to the shadows (okay, maybe not that odd) considering that landmark deal Jackson signed 10 plus years ago. I guess they've decided that now the heroes have come together, there's less of a need for Fury in the present.

Jackson was too busy filming his role as Admiral Jules in the super secret, currently in post-production, underground Tarantino Trek project. :shifty:

We already know that Jackson will be in Captain Marvel, perhaps his amount of pictures in his deal won't allow him to do both Captain Marvel AND the new Avengers without a new (pricey) deal???

New TV spots.

Good news for comic readers: The Wanda and Vision romance will be the heart of the film.

Regardless of what happens to the Infinity Stone in his noggin, the Vision and Scarlet Witch’s love story feels like one of the keys that’ll make Avengers: Infinity War either work or not. “This is definitely the most emotional arc I’ve done in an Avengers film, that’s for sure,” Olsen said.

And, unlike most of their fellow heroes, at least these two have each other.

“It just feels like you have something really specific to work with all the time,” Olson said of the two. “That feels nice. There’s an anchor point to everything, which is what you’re constantly looking for when you’re doing these movies. ... You have your partner, your life partner with you by your side, and that creates a different kind of stakes, as well.”

I guess I meant magazine covers. Same difference as they're all blurring together at this point.

Better than the last set. At least Wanda actually looks like Wanda this time.

You're not making much sense.

What I posted earlier are some film posters for Infinity War. Wanda isn't on any of them and I guess they may have been used by some publishers as magazine covers, but as they were released at the beginning of the week, I doubt they have been yet.

Oh, I see the problem: You didn't share the fifth poster from this current set. There's one more which has Wanda in it.

There was a set of magazine covers from about a week ago (Entertainment Weekly, I think) where Elizabeth Olson didn't look anything like herself in it. I believe even she commented on it.

Edit: Yeah, that one! Thanks, ITL.

I wasn't aware there was a fifth poster - and am I right in understanding you were talking about that poster, when I had posted four of them and not five.

Yeah. I was half awake and looking at the post on my phone, so I was reacting as if the poster was there because I saw the set yesterday.

I like how all five posters are the same colors as the Infinity Stones that have been revealed so far: Red (Reality), Blue (Space), Purple (Power), Green (Time), and Yellow (Mind).

Each poster also has some kind of theme related to the movies in which they appeared. The red poster's got a liquid recalling the Aether, the blue poster has a bunch of geometric patterns reminiscent of the Tesseract, the purple poster has the same sort of hazy, cloudy look like what surrounded the Guardians of the Galaxy when they used the Power Stone against Ronan, and the green poster has sparks resembling the look of the sling ring portals introduced in Doctor Strange. The only one I don't really get is the crystalline design of the yellow poster; I probably would have incorporated some kind of binary or generic computer code-looking design referencing the Mind Stone's role in the creation of Ultron and Vision.

I wonder if they'll release a sixth, orange poster for the Soul Gem, with Thanos and the Black Order on it.
