still at last a avatar contest to be voted on, based on peoples art skills, rather than one where the best looking woman wins

I find that many vote based on favorite characters, versus the aesthetic quality or style of the avatar. An artsy, high-quality shot of Adric or Adam will more than likely always lose to a standard screencap of Jack and Lethbridge-Stewart being generally awesome...

I honestly hadn't got Jack or the Brig in mind when I thought about the theme for this contest (which is unsual, because they would normally be the guys who I think of). I was actually thinking of another bloke altogether, then I got distracted by Harry.

It's interesting how folks vote in the contest. I never vote for the prettiest women, for instance. I generally seem to vote for entries that are unusual, or are of characters/episodes that I'm fond of. The reasons for my voting changes. For instances, in the 80s contest that has just finished I voted for McCoy's Doctor with Ace because it was a really cute picture. I narrowly didn't vote for Tegan even though I really like Tegan as a character. Do people really just vote for the prettiest girl?

I don't think the prettiest girl always wins. Last contest had stand alone pics of Ace and Tegan, neither of which won. To be honest even now I find it hard to figure out what makes a good av, and on the few occasions I've won it's usually with an av I hadn't thought was that great. Heck I couldn't even win with the Tegan clevage shot last time I used it

The one thing that does annoy is the 'We have a winner' comments (Note this isn't aimed specifically at anyone as loads of people do it) and I do wonder if it subconciously pushes people towards voting that way.

The only reason people should call a winner this early is if they have a time machine and have just come back from next week. And if they have they're idiots for doing it here instead of with the lottery numbers!

As what I vote for - It depends, just the picture that most attracts me, not in terms of pretty girls but clearest pictures, most imaginative, most unusual or humorous...
