Avatar contest: "Acts of Sacrifice"

Hmm. I suppose I'll get no votes going with Torchwood, but this one brought me to tears:

Jack and his grandson

But there's also the scene with Jack sending the first group of kids away (but the picture is a bit crap).

Which one do you prefer?

Well I think animated avs are brilliant!

Here's my entry:

I've no idea what the avatar is referencing ... seems a bit naughty to me.

LOL. You should see the shot later when the Doctor is dying in her arms... Let's just say the camera is far more focused on her chest than on the Doctor... Slightly ruins the seriousness of it all.

And this is the Doctor giving his Companion, Peri, a vial of antidote to a deadly disease the both of them contracted. There was only enough for one, and since the Doctor can regenerate, he gave it to Peri, sacrificing his current "incarnation" (and possibly his actual life, as one never knows if a regeneration will actually work or not, especially in the state he was in) in order to make sure she lives.

I've been waiting for some Doctor Who related icons to show up in this... I know where a couple of my votes are going already. :D

PS: auntiehill, I'd go with Jack with his grandson; that was a far more intense and personal sacrifice, IMHO.

To the good crew of the Sunhawk Strakath, finest representatives of the Drazi Freehold. :)

that's just a freaking blur.

Pretty much, yeah. That's as clear as it gets with that scene.

Anyway, blur = action, does it not? Which is what we're supposed to be going for here.

This is the "act of sacrifice", not "clear pictures of spaceships" :p

That's all we see, really. A quick blur as the Strakath flies in and takes the missile meant for the White Star II. We don't really even grasp what happened until a character asks "what ship was that?".

Deranged, was that a screen cap from your DVD?

No, it was from the Babylon Project wiki. :) I was pleased to find a picture of that scene on the internet.

Let me see if I can get a screen cap from my DVD for you this evening. That might be a little clearer, but it's a long shot.

That's kind of you. :)

 I know, mine is not exactly the clearest avatar we've ever seen...

But I'm too attached to this scene to change it.

Vote "blur" people! Clarity is overrated! ;)

I agree, besides he is wearing purple and purple is stronger than green.
