Australian Prime Minister swears live on National TV

Good on him.

I wish Gordon Brown could go on BBC 1, just before EastEnders, and say, "I'm sorry, I fucked up massively. We're all buggered, but shit happens, and Mervyn King is a stupid, bespectacled twat. Oh, and the Real IRA are a load of cunts."

He'd definitely win the next election. Think of the yoof vote he'd attract!

Australia has a Prime Minister?!? :)

Indeed. He spends most of his time drinking beer and floating in a lake.

(Sorry for the Simpsons reference, Australians.)

Oh of course, I thought that was just make believe cobber :lol:

(disclaimer, no offence is meant towards the upstanding, or indeed floating in a tyre on a lake, citizens of Australia:))

But we just don't mention that particular episode of the simpsons.

Though an Australian P.M saying shit?

Nothing new about that - Bob Hawke did it over 20 years ago. Though that was when a TV light exploded and it sound like a a gunshot.

Then again Hawkey did call a senior citizen a "silly old bugger"

You think you've got it bad?
We have Prince Phillip;
"Oh no, I might catch some ghastly disease." (in 1992 in Australia, when asked to stroke a Koala bear)
"Still throwing spears?" (Question put to an Australian Aborigine during a visit in March 2002)
"You managed not to get eaten, then?" (in 1998, to a student who had been trekking in Papua New Guinea)
:rolleyes:
and John Prescott MP who punched a member of the public for heckling him (ok admittedly the man did throw an egg at him but I thought that's what politicians were for:lol:)
