Yes, and they were not any worse than other video game violations like Doom, Silent Hill, Resident Evil or other crap.
Resident Evil is practically Shakespearean next to Bloodrayne.
This is truth, and I hated Resident Evil. The only thing that comes close to saving Bloodrayne is Kristanna Loken....and even that doesn't do it.
This may be the worst idea in the long, sad, history of bad ideas.
Whatever people think of Paul W.S. Anderson and Brett Ratner on this board, at the very least they are technically competent directors and can put a movie together even if there's no hint of flare or style.
Uwe Boll makes them look like Spielberg or Nolan by comparison.
It's well known that when casting his movies, he waits until the last minute and looks for "name" actors who are available and willing to slum it for a paycheck. It has nothing to do with finding the right actor for the part, so add completely miscast roles with a director who doesn't know what he's doing, and it's not a pretty picture.
Just watch a few minutes of BloodRayne to see how lifeless and empty it is. It has nothing to do with with the fact that he's made the worst movies based on video games. Anyone with common sense can see he's just that bad.
