Auschwitz - A film by Uwe Boll

Is this possibly a really bad joke? It's not listed on his IMDB resume which a film that far into production usually would be, and that guard at the start is Uwe Boll.

Still it's well within the realm of possibility that Boll would do something this ridiculous.

It's the top commented on story of the last 24 hours on ain't it cool news - are they in the habit of posting hoaxes without mentioning it's fake?

I'm a bit suspicious of the title font- I suspect this is a re-edit of clips intended for the trailer of Bloodrayne: The Third Reich, in which the videogame character takes on the Nazis.

But who knows- Uwe's probably just about crazy enough to think he can pull off a death camp exploitation flick

It looks like he hopes to sell this on shock value alone without treating the event respectfully. At least with Postal, it was meant to be funny.

What's the first word that comes to mind when you think of Auschwitz? Horrific.

On the surface, it seems like a match made in hell.

But... yeah, this probably wont end well. :scream:

Hmm...interesting:shifty:
Trailer is horrific...but so was the Holocaust. And other concentration camp films arent really easy to watch either, like the Grey Zone for exsample:borg:( its a good film, though).

Uwe Boll...well, its true that he is not the master of cinema..but at least he makes films for a living, plus get some big names and money to make them.
I say that some Boll bashers are just jealous of him:D, I can admit that I am. I would certainly like to make movies for a living..my dream job actually..but one can always make it as an hobby, right?

I have never seen any of Boll's films. Is he that bad?

Conversely, if his films really do suck, how much of that is his own fault? Does he *write* the films he directs?

Uwe Boll is obviously taking a page from Spielberg and I think Auschwitz will be his way of maturing as a director, of adding some depth and heft to his work.

or not....:p

C'mon, when I think of a name to follow "Spielberg" and "Polanski", "Boll" is obviously it.

Now, being graphic in depicting the Holocaust isn't a bad idea in and of itself (since the Holocaust was like that). But can Boll actually turn these horrific images into something meaningful? I doubt it.

He's a godawful director who thinks he's a legend and the entire world is wrong. How can you make a "Kristanna Loken gets naked and has sex" scene look so unsexy?

There's a detailed behind-the-scenes story about Alone in the Dark that tells you everything you need to know.

That's the story about him firing the original writers because they didn't write enough explosions into the movie?

I think he wants to be a serious guy now and I figure a film like this is basically bait for German investors or whatever.

^^^^
So did Jenna Jameson and Traci Lords. Ok the latter had some luck in the transition.

Still Uwe put out such middling fare for so long that you'd have to be a fool to give him any real money to make a movie. He has no history of profitability on a film.

Boll hates political correctness. That's fine.
That's why I liked the intention behind Postal.

People have some really weird sensibilities anyway.

He isn't. Most of it is Internet hype of video game fanboys. How dare he put Far Cry from a tropical island into canadian forests?! HIS MOVIEZ SUCKS11111oneone
