I have an idea, too, but it's kind of silly and I'm pretty busy with other stuff at the moment.
Is there a minimum word count?
you're not supposed to enter previously written material.
i have an entry in the works. hopefully i'll get it finished over the weekend...
Star Trek/Star Wars crossovers will never happen in any of my stories.Timewalker-if you are meaning like Star Wars/Star Trek I'm guessing its allowed but remember the main theme: unexpected guest. Rules? We don't need no stinkin' rules, man.![]()
Yep, I know the basic structure of posting stories on the 'Net. I used to compete in -- and later host -- the Iron Pen Competition on a gaming forum I belonged to some years back. The idea of that is that two competitors have 48 hours to write a short story with a minimum of 750 words, using a mystery theme they don't get to know about until the start of the 48 hours. The person who started this modeled it loosely on the Iron Chef TV show. And when I took over hosting the competition, I had to win the right to do that -- by getting more votes for my story than my opponent. If you could put spaces between changes in dialogue those of us who read nearly everything posted in this forum would be grateful-for a reference go check out a Xeris story(as I think there are a couple floating around right now) as a structural guide. And for your own safety-some of these guys will let almost anything go EXCEPT scrunchy dialogue! For that, they will reach through the fiber-optic cables and strangle you, laughing all of the while.![]()
Sadly, the crossover that is most on my mind these days doesn't include Star Trek. But it is a very unlikely combination.![]()
