ARCHER: I'm Captain Jonathan Archer. We're from Earth.

(Hearing this, Smike lunges at Archer with his knife, but Archer manages to overpower Smike and knock him out.)

SOONG: This was Raakin's. I gave it to him when he was five. He was a good student. He loved astronomy. We'd sit at night, and I'd point out the stars. He could name every one. Where's your brother, Malik?

 

[Skywalker]

MALIK: I don't know what you've been told...

 

[LeadHead]

Soong: No one will say anything. I only know he's not here.

 

[Skywalker]

MALIK: He's dead.

 

[LeadHead]

Soong: Tell me what happened.

 

[Skywalker]

MALIK: He turned his back on your word. He didn't want to liberate the others!

 

[LeadHead]

Soong: What happened to him?

 

[Skywalker]

MALIK: (feigning remorse) I killed him. We were arguing. He pulled out a knife, I drew mine. He came at me. The next thing I remember, there was...blood everywhere. It was an accident! I tried to save him, I...I tried!

 

[JanewayRulz!]

SOONG: (slamming him up against the bulkhead) He was your brother!

 

[Skywalker]

MALIK: I'm sorry! (hugs Soong, sobbing) Father, I didn't mean to hurt him. I'm sorry!

 

[Enterprise1981]

MALIK: I'm sorry. Father. I didn't mean to hurt him, I'm sorry.

 

[JanewayRulz!]

SOONG: Malik, it's my fault. I left you alone.

 

[Leandar]

Malik: No.

 

[LeadHead]

Soong: I should have stayed with you. You were just children.

 

[Skywalker]

MALIK: No...Father...

 

[Leandar]

Soong: Shh. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Malik. I'm sorry.

 

[Skywalker]

(Enterprise, Sickbay)

PHLOX: He's dehydrated, suffering from slight malnutrition, but otherwise, he's in good condition.

 

[Leandar]

Archer: For an Augment, he didn't put up much of a fight.

 

[Skywalker]

PHLOX: He isn't an Augment. He's, um, an anomaly. His DNA is similar to the others', but not identical. He was born with none of their enhanced abilities.
