Augments Arc Line-by-Line!

CoveTom

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Greetings!

We've recently concluded our http://trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=133531"Face of the Enemy Line-by-Line" thread over in the TNG forum!

After each completed thread, I'm randomly picking someone who participated to choose the next episode we do. The lucky winner this time around was 5 LeadHead Rings (aka LeadHead)! And LeadHead has chosen the "Augments arc" of "Borderland", "Cold Station 12", and "The Augments" as our next line-by-line adventure!

For any unfamiliar with our "game," you are asked to post only a single line (defined as one character speaking without interruption by another character) per message. You can post as often as you like, but someone else must post a line in between your posts.

As is our standard practice, we're doing these three episodes as a single thread. Our "rule" is that if the episode has a "To Be Continued..." on the end, it is done in a single thread, but if it's just an arc of related episodes, each episode is a separate thread.

As before, at the conclusion of this thread, I will pick someone at random from among all the participants to choose the next episode we do.

Enjoy!

CAPTAIN: Tractor beam. (to another officer) Send a squad to the docking port!

(the Klingon vessel locks onto the transport with its tractor beam)

(Klingon Corridor - two young men are being escorted by a group of big, armed Klingons, when they stop and look at each other)

Soldier: Move! Walk, human!

(The pair take on the Klingons, easily throwing them along the corridor, and knocking them out)

(Klingon Bridge)

CAPTAIN: Contact the High Council. Inform them of the prisoners. Request instructions.

Officer: Commander, disruptor fire near the brig.

(The door opens, and the two young men raise their weapons)

(The Klingon captain utters a curse and reaches for his sidearm, but the two humans open fire before he can draw it.)

It's been a long road
getting from there to here
It's been a long time
but my time is finally near
And I will see my dream come alive at last
I will touch the sky
And they're not gonna hold me down no more
No, they're not gonna change my mind
Cause I've got faith of the heart
I'm going where my heart will take me
I've got faith to believe
I can do anything
I've got strength of the soul
No one's gonna bend or break me
I can reach any star
I've got faith, I've got faith
Faith of the heart

(Act One - Starfleet Holding Cell)

GUARD (O.S.): You have a visitor.

(The metal devices on his wrists lock themselves together to form a chunky pair of handcuffs. The door opens)

Soong: Jonathan Archer. What brings you here? They're naming the prison after you?

Soong: Well, I suppose it's not every day one gets to speak with the man who saved the planet. Please.

Archer enters the cell

Soong: I apologize for the clutter. I'm not allowed traditional recording devices.

the guard leaves

ARCHER: You programmed a PADD to unlock every security door in the building.

Soong: I was particularly proud of that. I made it all the way to Sausalito. On the rare occasion I get stuck on a problem, I find that a vigorous escape attempt helps to clear the head.

Archer looks at a stack of papers

Soong: Go ahead. They're DNA sequences. That one is for a modification of the Human T-Cell. It would render Sharat syndrome a thing of the past. That one increases the visual spectrum by 5%. Of course, none of it will ever be tested. They clear my room every few months. I'm told it all gets....vaporized.
