Here's the odd part. His soon-to-be ex-wife and I were playing phone tag where she was trying to check on him to make sure he got here okay. During one message that she left, she tried to fix me up with him!!?!? Say what!?!?! Their divorce isn't even final (or close to it)!!!

Well, just because it isn't legally final, doesn't mean that hasn't been over, in her mind, for a long time.
I think you're right - she just wants him to be happy. But, I wouldn't worry too much, or think that it's weird behavior for her. There may be a little guilt in there, and she knows you guys are friends. That's nice that she's look out for him. Don't get spooked by it, though. Obviously, the relationship was over for her ages ago, so she feels comfortable about it.
On the flip side - maybe that was an issue in their relationship? His friendship with you? Although there wasn't anything for her to worry about, maybe she had issues with trust and with her ex-husband being friends with any women. So, maybe this was her way of letting herself accept that, if there is a chance for a relationship between her ex-husband and you, she's mentally prepared herself for that.
i'm going to assume you're talking about fingernails.Toresica said:
a) I painted my nails today. When they get scuffed up (which will happen soon, I bite my nails), should I take the polish off right away, or just walk around with scuffed nail polish? (And is there a better word for it then scuffed?)
um... how so? like alternating fingers? or different hands? i see a lot of alternating finger colors.b) Is it a bad idea to wear two slightly different shades of brown? (or any other colour)
why are they looking at your ankles anyway?c) Will anybody notice if my socks don't match my trousers?
I was thinking in terms of clothes - pants and a sweater, or something.daeana said:

Do what feels right to you.

Re: B: Sure, as long as the shoes go, nothing is adding too much contrast or too many conflicting details, and you're not wearing too many different things (i.e. red with two different shades of blue runs the risk of being odd, or three very different shades of green together would look like you mugged an elf and stretched his clothes to fit you).
Re: The guy who's ex-wife tried to set me up with him: Oh, don't worry. There's no risk of me actually going out with him at the end of his deployment. I don't think she knows this, but he's my ex-boyfriend from over five years ago. I broke up with him because I only loved him platonically. I'm not in any rush to make the same mistake twice.
Maybe I'm just being old-fashioned, but the sanctity of marriage actually means something to me.

The web gets more and more tangled...Re: The guy who's ex-wife tried to set me up with him: Oh, don't worry. There's no risk of me actually going out with him at the end of his deployment. Which marriage? They're divorced, aren't they?Maybe I'm just being old-fashioned, but the sanctity of marriage actually means something to me.
