And thanks again daeana, I actually found something I like so much I bought it. Not sure if it'll work for the big plans but I can just wear it too. MWHAHAHAHA.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

Man, I'm bummed. I'll be a little emo goth... In about 12 hours, it will be fourteen years exactly that I made a stupid decision that led to my breaking my ankle which led to the onset of osteoarthritis a few months ago. Needless to say, I'm a bit bummed and miffed that my nearly 14-year-old self didn't think before she acted. Thanks for letting me vent.

I didn't really feel like blabbing about it. ;)

But you're a blab lover! ;)

You know how long I've been waiting to use that joke? Please don't hate me. :D

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

It's another gregg. If you don't mind the smell of cooked rice you can make one yourself. Just get some rice and put it in a sock. Then you can either microwave it or put it in the freezer. Keeps for quite a while actually.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

I just got my internet access back tonight and I'll be gone again by tomarrow.

I have a job and an apartment now, so everything is getting settled. I can now turn my attention to my first lent. Unforutnately, I decided to give up recreational internet access before I realized how many people I would be losing touch with. I have 9 minutes before Ash Wednesday begins. I'll be gone for 40 days, not counting the 5 Sundays. On those five days, we are allowed to lessen the restrictions we imposed on ourselves, so I will at least be corresponding by email, even though I won't come into the dark influence that is chat. ;) My addy is hns1981@gmail.com

Peace out. I'll see you in the spring.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

Scatta would like to clarify:

She knows that during lent you give up food but the Internet would be a distraction from her prayers and her fasting. She is, though giving up meat and fasting on certain days.

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

Ah those crazy catholics. I never really thought I'd be living with one during lent. Now I have to think of lots of meatless dishes.

Just go out to the local fish fry on Friday nights. It's the perfect excuse to eat a greasier meal than you normally might. ;)

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

i've never quite understood why fish and seafood don't count as meat. :p

The whole ash wednesday and good friday can't really eat at all really surprises me.

Though I think tomorrow I'll come up with some ocean perch we have in the freezer. He loves when we make fish and chips but it's almost too much fried stuff for me.

Seriously what were they thinking, Lent should be during summer then you could get good fish.

It's supposed to be a sacrifice but I've had some really good fish frys that were no sacrifice at all.

Speaking of perch, nothing beats the lake perch that's part of a Wisconsin Friday fish fry. :)

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

I was raised Catholic, and to be honest we used to look forward to Good Friday because of this amazing seafood chowder my gran used to make. I think that definitely defeats the point doesn't it?

(I've just been scared out of the latest "All women are X" thread, and needed to come in and bask in the happy oestrogen vibes for a bit. :))

Dare I check out this thread?

I agree it does defeat the point. :)

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

I guess it depends how such threads affect you. I personally find them kind of triggering, because they always seem to have this air of "hey guys, check out these bizarre "women" things, and their uncanny ways" :D

Personally, I'd much rather embrace my inner fish.

I know what you mean. Personally, I think the whole gender behavior stereotyping thing is simply a means of observing how men and women express immaturity in different ways. Mature adults don't behave in stereotypical fashion because they are either in the minority or their behavior isn't as attention-grabbing, imo.

Look at this thread for example. Despite the fact most of us who post here are women and guys used to invade it in the beginning (and the gals didn't turn on each other to compete for their attention) this is a very safe and welcoming place for the women on the board. It's also proof-positive that not all women are catty. :)

Re: attention girls: embrace your inner twitch.

Maybe all us women need to have another Av day so then the guys can see that yes we can get along, we're not all "catty" ;)
