It was, amusingly, a financially unsuccessful one.
It seems that all of the creative minds of the film industry went on strike while this was shooting to show what happens when a movie is made without any ingenuity or thoughtfulness at all. They didn't want audiences to take their art away from them, so out of rational self-interest, the audience obliged by not giving them any money. Critics shrugged.

It has Armin Shimmerman in it for a few minutes. Also, I like trains. Otherwise, the movie is boring, the plot a trudgery, and the acting wooden. Think "Left Behind", but for Randians.
They should have had him play the character just like Quark and rattle off the Rules of Acquisition, and see if anyone could tell the difference between that and the movie's philosophy.
Anything like his character in Bioshock?
I have never seen any of the Left Behind movies although I admit I love the books. The ones that aren't prequels, anyway.
More like Dr. Potter in Atlas Shrugged, really.

The only difference is that in Atlas Shrugged, Quark would be the most human, compassionate character.
Oh, ye gods, if you get a chance to see the Left Behind movies, do so, and then MST3K the hell out of them, because they are perfect fodder for that. Otherwise, keep a garbage can handy. The acting and storyline will get to you.
Also, the Jesus portrayed in the books is a psycho. A huge, evil psycho.
The sequel supposedly at least has better acting. I don't think any critic claims there is good acting, just better acting. And I'm sure they'll make a third when they can scrape together enough money.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who sometimes mixes them up!
Which is interesting, considering he voiced Andrew Ryan, who, besides having his name derived from Ayn Rand, was the founder of Bioshock's underwater city where he tried (and failed) to establish a sort of objectivist society.
Don't those books end with a giant superhero Jesus arriving on Earth and incinerating millions of Jews/Muslims/Atheists etc?
If you're a conservative, yes, both installments so far have been very good.

I found the ideas on the back cover philosophy to be very interesting and intend on reading it. What's it like 1000 pages. In my library the book laptops for idiots is about 1000 pages too. Stephen King's 'The Stand' never ends either.
