At least the strike was good for Boston Legal

I finally found one good thing about the writers' strike!

Boston Legal season 4 was okay, but certainly not its sparkling best. But I just saw the new ones after the strike and wow, it's back to old form. Maybe David Kelley needed a break. :)

In particular I loved...

The whole scene where their meeting has moved, and they take the piss out of the networks. Classic Boston Legal.

I thought it got better after the strike to.
Where some of the eps filmed when the strike was on so they could not make any changes to the scripts

I thought the season was all over the place before and after the strike.

And ABC showed a Boston Legal repeat last night! I was shocked!

Wasn't there a story about how David E. Kelly wrote something like three scripts over night so the show could keep shooting during the writer's strike?

I wouldn't be surprised. He's easily the most prolific writer/producer since Stephen Cannell.

Yes. He seemed to have a line up of several shows. They had 15-17 episodes of show done when most didn't have half of that.

Through a combination of Kelley's last-minute writing blitz and the usual holiday/election pre-emptions, Boston Legal managed to have 14 episodes and stay on the air until mid-February. Another six after the strike brought them up to 20, which wasn't too far off the 24-episode order the season originally had.
