on edit^^ You beat me to it...

Local news here just reported that WB is pulling all TV ads for TDNR, and even considered pulling the movie itself from the upcoming weekend...

Very sad. I will never understand what compels an individual to do this.

Being a sick bastard, that's what. Who's to say he had any other reason? Sometimes that really is all it takes. Some people are just innately evil.

I can see movie theaters saying no more masks/costumes etc..

That's not what I'd call a "far-reaching consequence."

It'd pretty much stop Rocky Horror cold, though....

Isn't that a slight overreaction to an isolated incident?

The trailer for the Gangster Squad where a squad comes from behind a movie theatre screen with Tommy Guns blazing has been pulled

It's a shame the Nolan series is plagued with tragedy. Granted, there were no incidents with Batman Begins, but The Dark Knight had Heath Ledger's death looming over it and now this is what people are likely to remember when they think of The Dark Knight Rises.

Pulling TDKR from theaters? Holy fuck.

Next time some Twilight hater kills someone just so that the movie gets pulled.

This is incredibly disturbing and will likely have far-reaching consequences in how we show movies in the coming years. People are going to look at this and wonder why precautions weren't made and something will probably be done.

That seems highly unlikely.

Bingo.. AMC Theaters has just announced that no one wearing "Costumes that cause any patrons to feel uncomfortable" will be allowed and absolutely no masks being allowed.

link..

That isn't the same as a ban on costumes, go dressed up as superman or wearing a starfleet uniform and I doubt they'll be much of an issue.

It's pretty damn close to being the same thing.... I kinda doubt someone will show up dressed like Mr. Spock to a Batman movie.. More like trenchcoats, Joker outfits and catwoman unitard/masks...

I think the future they might ban all masks/costumes.

Most places have a ban on masks anyway. In some cities it actually is illegal to wear a mask in public and you can be charged for it. I actually sat in on jury duty once where the guy on trial, one of his charges was wearing a mask.

And most public places, malls, restaurants, whatever almost always have signs up on Halloween saying they will not serve anyone wearing a mask.

Or she was dating the person who is the real Batman. His girlfriends are often targets of multiple psycho killers.

I would be more surprised if an entire year were to pass without a story like this being reported. We can but hope.
