I find your statement insulting. Having a carry permit is a privilege. You have to pass a background check and then a safety course in most states. The vast majority that own weapons, do so because it is our right to do so. Those that carry, do so because they want to, their job requires it or they want to protect themselves.
Most off duty police carry a weapon. Would you call them insecure, inferior or suffering from persecution complexes? I'd call anyone that carried a weapon, prepared. But hey, that's just me.

Good look trying to sue the theater as thier emergency doors are the same standards as all the other theater's in the country.

Brown's attorney Don Karpel told TMZ he plans to sue the Century 16 theater, which is owned by Cinemark, for having an exit door that was not equipped with an alarm or guarded. (Holmes reportedly left the theater through the exit door, propped it open and returned with his weapons.) Karpel also said he may sue Warner Bros for releasing violent movies that may have inspired the shooter, as well as the suspect's doctors, if he had any, for hypothetically not monitoring James Holmes' mental condition properly.

J.H. Verkerke, director of the University of Virginia Law School's Program for Employment and Labor Law, told Yahoo News that in general, it would be difficult to win a claim against a theater in this type of situation unless you could prove that the theater should have known about the threat and that its safety standards are below average compared to most movie theaters. Cinemark declined to comment on the suit on Tuesday.

There are certainly professions where carrying a gun is necessary or at least wise. There are a few neighborhoods where it could be considered prudent. The vast majority of Americans, however, have no need of a gun and never will.

Anyway, my point was just that given the current political situation, and Obama's complete silence on the gun issue, imagining that he's cooking up plans in secret to take your guns away is just foolish. He couldn't if he wanted to, and he's made no indication of wanting to recently. Obama isn't the sort to operate in secret anyway....he's very straightforward about his goals and what he's trying to achieve.
