Assassin's Creed: Syndicate (also Chronicles and Movie)

[yt]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYnW9U7aNUM[/yt]

Three months until release. Three months. And this is the best they can do advertising-wise.

In a word: Nauseating.

Well, one thing I'm glad to see back at least is that once you highlight enemies with eagle vision, they permanently stay highlighted. That was a nice feature in Black Flag and I have no idea why they took that out of Unity.

More importantly, it's a movie set in the world of the games, and not an adaptation. Suddenly I'm a lot more interested.

(How sad will it be if the movie has more present-day content than Syndicate does?)

While I'm meh on AC overall, I do like that they're doing their own story and setting it in the same world as the games, instead of just cherrypicking ideas from every game and doing their own thing.

I was actually kind of hoping they would do the original Altair story, since the game was so boring that I never actually finished it.

This makes it feel more like another entry in the game franchise.

Once Desmond died they started making new games with different Abstergo test subjects.

Fassbender's character is like that. He's another Abstergo test subject within the game universe.

I care about Syndicate.

A 43-minute video leak of the beginning of Syndicate has leaked online. No, I'm not providing the link. SPOILERS ahead...
This game picks up pretty much where Unity left off. You're one of the Initiates, operating through Abstergo's Helix video game machines, and still taking orders from 'Bishop.' Your assignment is to locate a Piece of Eden known to exist in Victorian London via the genetic memories of Jacob and Evie Frye. Once you pinpoint its' location, Shaun Hastings and Rebecca Crane (in the present day) will swoop in and take it if it's still there. The Templars are hot on the trail of this POE too, so it's a race to the finish line.

Other points:
- Abstergo/Templars control most of the world. There are Assassin enclaves in France, Brazil, mid-Atlantic (The Altair II, commanded by Gavin Banks and William Miles), Nigeria and Japan.
- Isabelle Ardant is the current Templar Grand Master in London.

1868 London. The Templars rule supreme, under the command of a new ultra-evil Grand Master named Crawford Starrick. (His collar shows the first historical appearance of the Abstergo logo.) And he's eyeing the throne of Queen Victoria herself - and beyond that, the entire world. Only "the unstoppable Frye Twins" stand in his way...

EDIT: Holy shit. This 40 gb game is reportedly going to require an 18 GB DAY ONE PATCH before you can even play it the first time. WTF?!?

That's almost as bad as when I installed GTAV for the first time. I severely underestimated how much time was needed for installation and updates and never got to play that day.

I wonder if that's their solution to not needing a second disc. (Before you say "they have 10 GB to play with!" - in Europe they probably don't thanks to additional languages.)

Dammit, I broke down and bought it. I almost made it through the whole day, but I got bored, so I went out and picked it up.

No gigantic patches, just a 5 minute software update. I actually put it in anticipating a much longer download time, so I haven't started playing it yet. It's paused at the beginning of the first mission. I need to eat first. :p

Im playing the Assassin creed Ezio, so im getting caught up to Syndicate. Slowly :D

I have AC: Syndicate reserved for the PC version cause I dont have the XBox One or the PS4 yet. I am getting the PS4 eventually. Yea...

Would be awesome if I could see the movie about now. Hows that look? The Assassin creed movie that is.
