As you learn more, does excitement go up or down?

There is something fun though looking forward to franchise movies like Bond etc.
It's true,it is only 2 hours,but it,s all about the wait!

and then I listen to a bunch of assholes ripping each other a new one because these morons making this film got Spock's shoelaces all wrong.

So then I question my worth as a Star Trek fan and a human being. Then, after a few minutes of that, I decide that Trekkies as a group are an angry, retarded mob. I reject them and the new movie and decide I just don't give a shit anymore. I abandon this place in hopes of a healthier perspective.
Awesome post! For me though, I tend to just roll my eyes and laugh at how worked up the more extreme fans get and avoid those threads unless they have good entertainment value. There's plenty of level-headed Star Trek fans here, although the more fanatic ones do tend to stand out.

Originally in 1939-1940, The Batman had guns.

True, but never to the extent Burton demonstrated. Nolan got it right. Wayne was initially compelled to fight fire with fire but ultimately thought better of it. It's now one of his defining characteristics. Burton made things even worse in the sequel by showing Batman shoving a bomb down a foe's pants.

I know, I know, "Some days you just can't rid rid of a bomb," but that was uncalled for. That was an example of a director who didn't know enough about a character. The screenwriter should share credit, too.

Abrams' crew seems to have a variety of interest in the source material. If they can put as much love and respect into their movie as Peter Jackson and his people did, I think we're in for a treat.

I am less excited. I don't like alternative time-line concept, time travel and bringing back Nimoy.

^I too am sexually aroused by this film.

God, I get a semi every time I enter this forum.

Come premiere night, I imagine they'll have to pull me off the movie screen as I futilely try to make vigorous, insanely passionate love to it.

Really? You found it funny? I found it ever so slightly disturbing.

I laughed out loud! But I assumed he was joking. If not I'll join you in the slightly disturbed club. ;)

The more I learn about this project the less intrested and even less surprised I am. I've heard nothing to inspire the least bit of confidence.

Any curiosity I retain is strictly in regards to visual presentation.
