Art that doesn't need its own thread

Oh, it's based upon a video game? The only version I encountered shows a pair of hands offering a wee kitten, a LOL-Cat type gag. Interesting to learn of the true source.

Sincerely,

Bill

A comment was made in this month's challenge about The Jetsons, so I had to post a pic using my latest Poser freebie - Lazarus's time ship from "The Alternative Factor" (TOS), which I modified to include a front swing-out hatch that makes it a fully-enclosed spaceship, one that also would look right at home there. In this pic, I hadn't yet finished all the interior detailing; it now has a set of instruments and a couple of control levers.

The little guy in the seat is my version of David Gerrold's "Bandi," from one of his unsold story ideas published in his book The Trouble with Tribbles.

What about the babe - your own creation or based on someone? (And if it is based on a real someone, can you give me her phone number? :p )

 Well, I can't take all the credit for Verena - she's a character morph for Poser's "Aiko 3," one that removes pretty much all of the anime aspects from the character, and you're left with someone who can still 'fit into' all the clothes intended for Aiko - and she's got quite the wild wardrobe, let me tell you! Best of all, she still fits Oshikai's brilliant TOS female uniform, the best one out there IMHO, and it's nice to be able to have a completely normal-looking lady on duty, sometimes. ;) Of course, I think she also looks pretty sweet in a Starfleet-issued bikini, as well ... maybe I should show her playing beach volleyball! (I do have a pic of her in the hot tub ... ;) )

Something that popped into my head today.....

"This droid has a bad motivator. Look!" :D

A couple of Android backgrounds I created recently. The first is was a request from my son to create him a Marvel superhero background for his phone.

The second is an Apollo astronaut, made for my own phone. If the moon's terrain looks familiar, it's because I recycled parts of my entry for this month's challenge to create it. :D

I took one look at this and when I saw the base of the staircase in the background I immediately thought of THE ADDAMS FAMILY and THE MUNSTERS.

Isn't it about time for some of the slick, photoshopping artists on these forums to find a way to do a crossover between TOS and some campy 60's sitcoms?

I could just see Grandpa Munster grinning ear-to-ear in place of Hakum, being flanked by two armed Lawgivers in "The Return of the Archons".

Could Captain Kirk make do with Jeanie as his yeoman?

Or maybe Endora instead?

Maybe a landing party beams in to visit the Stevenses' home on BEWITCHED? Or maybe Kirk winds up dating Serena?

It would be neat if someone could take a black-and-white image of a seated Kirk being interrogated at the Air Force Base and match it with Gomer Pyle and his Sarge, as if Kirk and Pyle are in Sarge's doghouse.

I smell an art contest...

I can't take full credit for this as I used an image of Odo as a base, but this is Kejal in his humanoid form. There's a reason he looks that way, and yes he's a Changeling. He comes from my For Freedom's Sake story.

I found this beautiful model online, and couldn't resist tinkering a bit with it, then making the requisite "spacedock glamour shot" ;). Looks like the 'little guy' definitely lucked out, escorting the prom queen ...

I really like that look but I wish the torp launchers were absent/different. Hmm, might be interesting if they were a little lower and vertical, following the curve above the sensor dish.

Oh no! I've fallen into a parallel universe! Where I come from that episode was entitled "The Alternative Factor"! What other strange differences might this new world I've found myself in have to offer?

Carp! You're absolutely right - wow, what a typo! ;).

Ummmm, I have no idea where that came from - I obviously know it from somewhere.

I like the parallel universe explanation as much as any :D.

Anyhoo....some art that doesn't need it's own thread

This was a robot in classic "reach for the stars" pose....and then the words popped into my head. Don't ask.

Finally depicted a visual gag I imagined long ago.

B9 is XCalPro's model and Robby is James "Tobor" Murphy's.

Sincerely,

Bill

Hmmm, not as impressed myself. It's a lot of work to be sure, someone has spent weeks animating and tweaking models to get the movement and scenes right, but its a bit lacking. I think that primarily it's the very flat lighting that lets it down. With some nice dramatic lighting it would have looked amazing, and made the rather average looking Enterprise model look a lot better. As it is it looks a bit like those machinima movies that people make using Bridge Commander.

I'd have to agree, it felt rather flat...I kept thinking...STO on med settings with shadows off for some reason...but I can see some work did go into it, so kudo's for that...
