Art that doesn't need its own thread

Posted this in Misc., but thought it needed to be shown here too....

I went to Disney World a couple of weeks ago. Don't have any pictures yet, but I do have some drawings we did. We did these in the 1/2 hour Animation Academy, which is part of the Magic of Disney Animation tour in Hollywood Studios. It's an easily overlooked part of the tour, but it's one of the best things to do at the parks. My oldest son did it twice since my wife & I had to take turns watching our youngest.

Middle row: wife, oldest son again

Remember Lincoln Enterprises, the merchandising company that Roddenberry set up in the '70s? I used to have a few things that I bought from them - a science division patch, an animation cel, the collection of Kelly Freas's portraits of the crew from TOS (best Uhura painting ever ;) ), and an envelope of film clips, frames that had been left on the cutting room floor, and they apparently collected them up, cut them into individual frames, and sold them as 'grab bags.' Recently, I found that old envelope, and was looking through the clips - imagine my surprise when I found this, apparently from a test shot on the bridge, before production of the series even began:

Okay, just kidding - this was a shot I did of a number of Poser freebies I've made; it was rendered in color, but when I was doing postwork on it, one blend mode made it b/w, and I just couldn't resist taking it to the limit ;). But all the rest of the stuff was absolutely true ...

I almost thought those were TARDIS controls till i read the text and see the mini ship there :)

I think it's meant to evoke the C57-D's bridge from Forbidden Planet... that's what I thought on first seeing it, then TARDIS lol...

Last month, Disney World finally rolled out their newest monorail. Its official color is Peach, so I updated my picture of all the monorail colors to include it:

Originally, I was going to make a Poser-based poster for the challenge on Star Trek Artists Unite on deviantArt ("make a movie poster for any Trek episode of any series"), but I ended up sticking completely with typography for this one:

(Incidentally, the bar code is also the title - I was looking for ways to play with the "black and white" concept throughout the image; the "=" in the date is also subtly significant, my way of stating that they were, in fact, equals).

This is awesome. I love poster art.

Thanks! :D I really had fun making that one. And all the ones that followed it ;).

This is probably my favorite of any I've done:

Cool indeed and im actually surprised a ep of the TOS with a story like that was green lighted o_0

BRAAAIIINNNSSS.....

:D

Posted this in Misc, thought it could go here too. I've never seen a Star Trek version of this one. Figured I'd fix that.

It's based on the scene in the beginning of the first Zelda game when you go in the cave and the old man gives you a sword. "It's dangerous to go alone. Take this." I've seen Star Wars, BTTF, and several other versions done, just not Star Trek. Just do an image search for Zelda and dangerous, you'll get it.
