No, no and no. Steel was beyond horrible--like Shaq's attempt to act.
Hm, I've never read Kingdom Come.
Pretty great stuff. Beautiful art obviously, some powerful themes, and gotta admit, had me in tears a couple times. You should definitely check it out.
Tom Cavanagh to Play Pariah in Crisis on Infinite Earths
John Cryer to return
You should get around to it. Its the best thing--by far--published by DC in the 1990s, and easily ranks in the top 3 of any DC comic created over the past 30+ years.
Yeah me too
Tons of spoilers in here for all the shows.
Brandon turned up at SDCC with a Kingdom Come Superman S on his chest...
Nothing's set in stone quite yet...
I don't see why they couldn't have Black Lightning appear in the same way that Supergirl appeared in the Invasion! crossover.
That is just coincidence
It’s not a question of how they make a crossover happen, what creative way to get the characters to interact. It’s a question whether they want that to happen. Whether or not they want to make Black Lightning a part of the Arrowverse or to leave it it’s own distinct thing.
Tom playing Pariah is a nice surprise. I had forgotten that character is a scientist so being a doppelgänger of Harrison Wells works well. Plus it should be a nice dramatic role as opposed to most of his Wells variations which are goofy accents.
If they are really looking to the Crisis comic storyline it would be nice if Audrey Marie Anderson plays Harbinger in full costume. That is were Lyla’s code name comes from.
Also I suspect Brandon is playing an older version of His character from Superman Returns. There is no way they can tell the whole storyline of Kingdom Come with this. That was always a What if? look at a possible future of Superman. Considering Brandon only has played the part once before why would it not be the same character older? I imagine his role with be a combination of Kingdom Come and Earth 2 Superman’s in the actual Crisis story. Both an older Superman.
Though it’s amazing to see Brandon is only less than 10 years older than Tyler.
Just remembered Brandon described that he is playing 4 roles in this. I was confused at first. But he specified that means Ray and the Atom and Clark and Superman. I really see no difference in how he plays Ray and the Atom. But great to know we will see him play Clark not just Superman.
Jon Cryer’s Return is not a surprise after the Monitor visited Lex’s body. With both him and Tyler in this hopefully we will get Lex and Superman sharing a scene.
It’s amazing how far we came from Tyler’s introduction in Supergirl’s season 2 premiere. Most were hoping that he would be a part of the Invasion crossover a few months later which never happened.
Makes a lot of sense to me. Hope the showrunners are thinking along the same lines.
I sort of got the impression from the Arrow finale that
Felicity would take on the Harbinger role. Rickards is done as a regular, but as we've seen with numerous Arrowverse cast members, that doesn't rule out returning for a guest role.
The thing about some of the characters on Arrow is that they were introduced when the universe kept its comics ties to a minimum and so the characters were portrayed so differently from their namesakes that there's no real way to change them into their comics equivalents. Lyla's about as likely to become CoIE's Harbinger as Teryl Rothery's Jean Loring is to marry Ray Palmer.
,,and it appears Black Lightning is going the route of being its own universe (not to mention the series referring to DC characters like they were fictional, rather than a real person, then there was an obvious, in-your-face scene of Anissa reading a comic with the ad for the recent Blu Ray of the Slater Supergirl movie on its back cover).
It is a series that is so far removed in structure, tone, ,execution and above all else message, that there is no commonality that would make a crossover anything other than doing it "just because."
But as was pointed out by someone above, the producers still aren't ruling it out, just suggesting that Flash et al would have to come to them. As for the Supergirl reference, maybe in the universe containing Black lightning, Supergirl is fictional, but in the universe containing the 1990s Flash so are Superman & Batman.
She could always be the Lyla Michaels of a different universe.
Apparently there's going to be multiple versions of Oliver Queen in COIE, all portrayed by Stephen Amell.
- the COIE reference is during the last 40 seconds or so.
Yes, to Dick Grayson, but I'd rather have a scene of Burt Ward looking at the Earth-2 Robin costume designed by Neal Adams, either the gray costume that resembles Batman's costume or the red and yellow costume that E2-Robin commonly wore in the Bronze Age and Crisis.
Then I feel like we need a Huntress from that world. Who would work as Adam West's daughter?
Separate names with a comma.
