Spoilers Arrow - Season 5

I'm fine with the idea of Oliver being kicked out if office. This incarnation of Oliver Queen was never much of a mayor, and the writers clearly have nothing interesting to say about politics or city government.

I think the idea of Oliver Queen as mayor of Star City was a bad mistake. Or perhaps this mistake was deliberate and a lesson for Oliver to learn - you know, like . . . you can't be a politician and a secret costumed vigilante at the same time.

The Green Arrow is now a criminal, making his job of keeping people alive that much harder.

So they'll hunt him... but he can take it.
Because he's not a hero, he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... a Green Knight.

I wonder if this show is getting way to close in comparison to the Dark Knight Movies. I've always seen this show be described as the TV version of Batman.

I thought Tommy Merlyn was going to be Prometheus, but seeing as the D.A. doesn't have a previous connection with Oliver, how is Chase linked to Oliver's past (other than Ollie killing his father)? I've grown weary of the Bratva flashbacks; I don't even pay attention half the time. I'd love to see more of the other characters' flashbacks, like Dinah Drake, Curtis, René.

Does there need to be another connection? That's kind of the point, really -- that this is the season that brings things full circle, with Oliver's actions in the first season having consequences in the fifth.

We got Rene flashbacks in "Spectre of the Gun" a couple of weeks ago (and I love it that they actually called it that). And we got a Dinah flashback in her debut. Anyway, they've said that once the sixth season arrives, they won't be doing weekly flashbacks anymore, but they might do occasional flashbacks involving other characters.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, they've already referenced almost everything from those movies ;)

There's only 8 episodes left to tie up Oliver's pre-return story, so there probably won't be any this season for other characters, but next season is up for grabs.
Only question is which characters will be back next season, Dinah's pretty much a safe bet, but Curtis and Rene might not be...

Oh, and a Prometheus flashback episode is also very likely, so that only leaves seven "island" episodes.

.
I realize that, but I guess I was expecting someone "we knew" from previous episodes earlier on in the series, and who had a special connection with Oliver. That said, Chase served the purpose. Now the only mystery that remains is the identity of Vigilante.

I liked Talia's appearance in one of the flashbacks since it was her who told Ollie "he had to be someone else, something else" to save Starling City.

i am confused , though. I thought it was revealed earlier that Adrian chase was Vigilante?

And the jokes with the T-spheres.... taking up Felicity's mantle!

I really like John Diggle become the team's mentor...he's really good and believable at it.

And if Calculator is behind Helix, both her parents can be big bads for season 6. :D

Wait, I forgot what happened to Felicity's dad in Season 4. He didn't die did he? Could he be behind Helix, even though that would feel like a repeat from last season when he and Felicity were out-hacking each other.
