Spoilers Arrow - Season 5

It's weird, though, that we've never managed to get a Dinah Lance Black Canary in live action. The Birds of Prey TV series included a Dinah, but she was Dinah Redmond, a metahuman psychic/telekinetic who was the biological daughter of Caroline Lance, the retired, sonic-screaming superhero called Black Canary. And in Arrow we've had Sara Lance as the Canary/White Canary, (Dinah) Laurel Lance as Black Canary, and now apparently Dinah Drake as Black Canary II.

The Black Canary on Smallville was Dinah Lance.

I think these are just some sort of sonic dampeners, not general meta ability ones.

No, it was stated last week that Team Arrow had gotten the Pipeline power-damping tech from Cisco, and that Curtis reworked it into a portable device. This is the next, smaller refinement of that device.

Oh, her. The one played by the actress who went on to Stargate Universe, and who had a weird face-paint thing instead of a mask. I'd forgotten all about her.

Also wouldn't those affect the heroes, too?
I don't think Barry is so good in a regular fist fight without his powers.

It looks like a directional device. The illuminated green circle is the emitter, so Flash would be okay as long as he kept it pointing away from him (as is the case with most weapons and restraint devices).

Pretty sure Curtis made Sonic dampeners. He even commented on the fact that the mob boss's power was sonic based as well.

I'm fairly certain the actual phrase "sonic dampener" was used, so maybe Curtis was only able to make it work for one type of power? He also had to tweak it a bit to to work on the baddie of the episode because his sonic power was different than Siren's and Dinah's so it apparently doesn't even work for all sonic powers automatically.

Regarding the new Black Canary, she's spent the past three years fighting crime without a mask, I wonder if she'll continue that way? It could be interesting to see a crimefighter without a dual identity, and if it means getting rid of the crappy blonde wigs and domino masks all the better. :techman:

Speaking of the costume, is it finally time for fishnets? ;):D

The piece of information Talia left out of her pep talk to Oliver about how amazing her is what a fricking amazing destiny he has... You are almost the nephew of Malcolm Merlin, the father of your sister, who is gunning for my daddy.

Oliver was put there in season one to kill Malcolm, even if he wasn't told that that was his mission by Talia who must have know the precise details of the undertaking that Oliver did not as yet.... Oh.

Talia met Oliver's time travelling exgirlfriend back in 1958ish and 2013ish.

Yeah.

Maybe Talia wants the Waverider?

So what are they going to do in Arrow once they run out of time before he returns home.

Do flashbacks to events during previous seasons that we never saw?

Do flashbacks to events during previous seasons that we never saw?.

This is the final season where flashbacks will be a regular thing as a narrative that spans the season.
They've said they will still do occasional flashbacks, might even do other character's flashbacks, or sometimes none at all.

I'm looking forward to when Oliver does get back on the Island. I wonder how long it was between Russia, then back on the Island, than his rescue. Kind of get the sense now that Talia is there, Oliver's storyline in Russia will end pretty soon.

The last scene of the season will be Talia giving Oliver a fake beard and a wig and saying:
"Okay, now go back to Lian Yu and wait for a fishing boat that should be sailing by two days from now."
;)

I was just wondering about the beard.

That would take months to grow, which is time he can't have left on his timeline.

Watching again, I have to wonder why Oliver called Captain Singh for information on "Tina Boland" and then asked the Flash to vouch for him with that superspeed note, rather than just asking Barry to ask the captain or Joe about it. In real life it's probably a matter of which actor they could get for a guest spot, but in-story it's rather contrived. Not to mention that Oliver somehow managed to explain what he needed from Barry in a single text and get an instant response. On my first watch-through, I assumed he must've contacted Barry in advance and had him on standby, but now I see that they didn't even know their vigilante was a former CCPD officer until that very scene. So it was a cute bit, but it didn't make any sense.

I still think he should flash back to previous episodes.
